I'm considering applying for Hawaiian Air ff credit card. I've never participated in any airlines ff program in the past. Is Hawaiian Air's program a good one? How long can the miles be accumulated? What are the blackout dates? Are the companion tickets at 50% off a bargain - or too many restructions? I looked for the answers on HA site and couldn't find the answers. I'd appreciate any info. & advice you can give me. TIA

We have Hawaiian
In fact we will be using our ff miles to make our Kauai trip this November.
They fly 767 out of Seattle, so we can reserve the 2 seats on either side of the plane and have some room .
Their website is easy to use to redeem miles. We get all of ours using our 2 Hawaiian Bank of America cards.
I don't think there any black outs, they just increase the point costs, i.e. a normal rt ticket from Seattle to Lihue, is 35K, during High demand periods, it can get up to 70K.
We haven't used the companion fair as this just started in the last couple of years.
I think as long as you use your credit card the points just continue to accumulate without expiring.

We just used our miles for our trip in March. There are no blackout dates. Prime travel times are more points and the points needed go up as the flights fill. I ended up short for the third ticket we needed but was able to buy additional points, something I didn't know I could do until now.
The companion ticket is only good for 12 months so if you get a card make sure you will use the promo ticket within the year! I never got to use mine.
We only have one card for now. Hubby will apply for one when we are planning another trip so we can use the companion ticket. Meanwhile we have all our regular bills such as garbage, electric and Dish TV paid autopay with our card. We charge our groceries & gas and pay once a month. We pay our auto insurance with it. We also pay all our timeshare MF with it to get the miles. It took me almost 2 years to get enough for 3 roundtrip tickets but we don't fly very often. We put all our car rentals on it for double miles. If you go to Hawaii at least every other year it should work for you. Don't use it for inter-island, not worth it.The legitimate object of Government is to do for a community of people whatever they need to have done but cannot do at all or cannot do so well for themselves”- Lincoln
