Anyone have any comments on these Kauai timeshares?

    Pahio at Ka'Eo Kai
    Makai Club Cottages
    Pahio at Bali Hai
    Kauai Beach Villas

We usually stay at Pono Kai and love it, but may want to try something different at least for a week.

    Thanks for any help.

    You'll be back!!!

All these units are nice, but inland in Princeville with no a/c is why we prefer our ocean front Pono Kai unit.

The Kauai Beach Villas, would be our only choice out of these, and then we would hope to get a Ocean view unit, or lagoon view unit.

And moving to another resort during vacation, out at 10am, and check in at 5,

    Not for us anymore.

    fwiw,

    Greg

I stayed at Pahio at Ke'Eo Kai and it was LOVELY. We had ocean, golf course and light house views...it was tremendous. They don't have elevators and each building is 3 stories high, if stairs are an issue. I requested at top floor unit for the vaulted ceilings and vistas....it was lovely. The units are large and spacious. No need for A/C for the ocean breezes. It is a short drive from the Princeville Hotel and is in the Princeville Resort comples (lots of TS there).

The only downside to the resort is, in my view, Princeville itself. It tends to be wetter than the southern part of the island and it is a long drive to get down to the southern part where there are more restaurants and things to do. That said, if you are into hiking, you are headed to the right place.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, but probably will look for a southside location the next time we make the trip.

We own at the Bali Hai and we really enjoy the proximity to Hanalei. We would love to have something on the beach, so the Villas in Lihue would be the only one with a beach. Is Pono Kai the one on the highway with the Longs Drug across the street? It would be handy for closeness to the fast food places, but it seemed like there might be some traffic noise for those stuck near the highway. There has been some concern about the lack of outside maintenance at the Bali Hai when we were there 2 years ago. The Keo Kai has also had some complaints about the furnishings being ratty. It might be that their schedule for taking care of routine replacements and maintenance might be lagging. We arrive for a week at Poipu saturday and then have 8 days up at Bali Hai. They've been building at the BH the last 2 times we've been there, which now blocks any view we once had on the balcony. We love the pool, but the hot tub is a bit small for this rapidly expanding resort. Pahio's Shearwater was also looking mighty neglected last time we stayed there, too. So much for the hopes that Wynham would keep everything looking nice! Gary

            Thanks all.....

Has anyone stayed at Kauai Beach Villas? Care to comment on them for me?

What about Banyan Harbor? The one in Lihue near the Marriott?

gary, will you please report back and let me know how your units were at both locations? We can stay at Bali Hai, but we both prefer a 2 br unit and as of now, only a 1 br is available.

Pono Kai is right at the edge of downtown Kapa'a. We have stayed there about 4-5 times now and loved every unit we had. Never had a problem with traffic noise since I sleep with Mr. Snoreeversoloudly!

              Just returned from 2 weeks.

We spent the first week at both Pahio Beach Villas and the Cliffs. I had grabbed a last minute at PBV to upgrade to a 2 bedroom. The PBV was fine - 2 bedroom, nice kitchen, we overlooked the pool. Bedrooms have AC, the living room never seemed to cool off enough for us.

We ended up spending most of our time at the Cliffs anyways. We had a one bedroom refurbished unit and it was really nice. We did not have an ocean view in either location. Breezes were better at the Cliffs and the unit was always comfortable even without the AC.

We spent the 2nd week at the Marriott Kauai Beach Villas - pool was great, had a great ocean front room. Our 2 complaints were that parking was so far away and the room layout was really poor. Hopefully the refurbishment will improve the layout problems,
