Hilo side always gets more rain
We were in Kona this last September and rained heavily in the area on our first day and then little more. Not that much on the west windward side, but we had heard that the eastern wetter side had flooding then too. Kind of funny how islands can be so diverse in weather. We found the humidity to be very high on the Kona side of the Big Island, but for September, that's normal. Have plans of going to the BI? We are going back for visit #2 in October.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Attached is a figure from Google earth showing Koloa town and Waita Reservoir looking to the northeast from a vantage point just about dorectly over Lawai Beach Resort.
If I have the drainage and topography down correctly, flood waters would generally sweep across Koloa town from the northeast. The water would then flow down toward Koloa landing, generally following Poipu Road. All low lying areas between the Poipu Bypass and Koloa landing would likely be flooded.“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”
“You shouldn't wear that body.”

on a lighter note I guess we don't post north shore sightings until they fix that road or we will have people sleeping in thier cars like the quote in you news clip.Lawren
