  • We are gluttons for punishment

Does anybody know if there is a restriction on how often one can take the Shell timeshare tour? We were in Hawaii last February and took it - definitely worth it for the discount card. We'll be there in March, so a little over a year.

I think I have a card with the name of the person we dealt with last time to book our activities and so forth, but thought I would post here first to see if we should sign up our friends - they'd be so thrilled - or do it ourselves. We're usually in and out pretty quickly!!

    Thanks muchly in advance.

I am pretty sure it is six months.....I will look for my paperwork and if I find it I will let you know. I think even if the paperwork says 12 months many times the promoters say it does not matter as long as it is not so recent or a different island.

I know we were in and out of there really fast when we went. They didn't even push when they found out we were from Canada and the discount booklet was worth it. At least they gave it to us unlike several years ago at Orange Tree. We tried to go to the presentation for the free golf but were told they didn't tour Canadians. Of course that's when the dollar was really low.

Same Island but 13 months later. If you have some info, that would be great.

You must not have participated in a Shell Vacations Club Vacation Ownership sales presentation within the past 12 months or have ever participated in more than two (2) presentations at the same Shell Vacations sales center. Depending on the sales center, if you're a Shell member, you may not have toured in the previous six months.

This makes me curious as to who has done the most at the same resort.

We have done five at Orange Lake, and I am fairly confident we will never be adding to that total.

I assume you mean Orange Tree?

DH and I will be in Kauai in January. What can I expect for a TS tour at Shell? Does one hold out for a sweeter offer than the initial one?

We did the tour 2 yrs ago for $200 cash. We're in Kona now so will check out their current offer. We were stuck for the full 90 min. & the sales guy tried to make us feel like whale sh*t for wasting his time. Typical guilt trip.

Thanks all. We'll call our contact person before we head over there. We like to "get 'er dun" on the first day of our trip.

One of the downtown salespeople said the current offer was $100 + the discount book. We passed. Actually, my wife passed.
