            Maui Lea at Maui Hill

Just a few notes on Maui Lea at Maui Hill.....

Would I go back to Maui Lea at Maui Hill?.....Yes!

While not on the Ocean, it is down the hill and across the road to the Ocean. It is best to use your car and park near a beach in Wailea.

The Management went out of their way to keep our three units near each other. We are here with our Son and his family and our Daughter and her family.

The 1 bedroom unit living room is larger than the 2 bedroom unit.

The 1 bedroom is large and the 2 bedroom is a little larger than the 1 bedroom unit.

The pool is large but not heated. They have a spa or hot tub near the pool.

Chang's Beach, about 4 miles from Maui Hill, has some very good snokeling.

The directions from RCI was the best way to get to the Resort.

            PS

Before we came here I checked the weather report. Every day for 10 days it said it would be cloudy with either 30% or 60% chance of rain. Our weather has been mostly sunny without any rain.

                Marriott's Honua'ula Luau Dancer

                Notes on the Marriott's Honua'ula Lu'au

                Would I go again?.............Yes

Maui Revealed stated the buffet isn't of the highest quality. I disagree. All of our family felt it was better than "it'll do" as stated in Maui Revealed.

The show was well done. But it is not as traditional as the Old Lahaina Lu'au. I agree that the fire/knife dancer was fantastic.

Marriott's Honua'ula Lu'au is about 2 miles from the Maui Lea at Maui Hill.

I would say that the Old Lahaina Lu'au is still number 1.

Thanks for the photos, especially the pics of Maui Lea. We are owners there but haven't been in years. We are finally going this year! It's a very well run resort and we have been happy owners since buying resale in 1997.

                    How Busy Is Maui?

We ate at Bubba Gump’s yesterday at about 12:15 pm. We were able to walk right in and get a window table without any wait time. The restaurant seemed about 4/5 full. The waitress told us it was dead compared to last year. And she also said that more and more workers are having to move back to the mainland because of lack or work.

We then went on a Whale Watch at 2:30 pm and before and after the Watch, the crew said “Thank You for allowing us to work a full day today.

We stayed at three timeshare Resorts in Maui and each Resort seem to be filled 100%. Yet, it was reported in the newspaper that the Resorts and Hotel rentals are about 50% of capacity.

To me it seems that Maui is busy but I also am seeing more and more stores closed.

The day before yesterday we ate at Mama Fish House. We made reservations for 2:00 pm and had a short wait. The restaurant was filled and the dining was wonderful. It still is the best restaurant on Maui .

Here are 2 pictures from Mama’s Fish House.
