  • I Really Had A Great Time In Maui!

Anyone that has been reading my posts about The Ocean Front Units might assume that I didn't have a good time in Maui. Well you would be wrong.

First of all I was able to trade into 3 units at the Maui Lea at Maui Hill. My daughter and her Family had a 1 bedroom unit with this View. Unit 108

My son had a 2 Bedroom and my wife and I had a 1 bedoom with this view.

We liked Maui Hill and would go there again. The units are large with a washer and dryer and free in room cable internet connection. The Beaches on this part of Maui I think are better than West Maui. Plus the Road to Hana, the road to Haleakala National Park, and Mama's Fish House are all about 30 minutes closer than coming from West Maui.

The 2nd week my son used our 2 bedroom at Kahana Falls. I bought this week on Ebay for $500. I had walked the grounds on our last vacation but I hadn't been inside a 2 bedroom. Well, I was more than satisfied with my buy. There is a daily towel exchange and free in unit internet connection. Something that the Embassy doesn't offer without a charge.

But best of all the Resort has been turn over to the owners and the owners are the Board of Directors and they control how the Resort is run. They have Trading Places doing the management of the Resort now.

This is the view from 610 at Kahana Falls.

    Grounds at Kahana Falls

The 2nd week my wife and I used our Owner's week at the KBC and had this view from Saturday toThursday. This is the view From 406.

On Thursday we were moved to 512. This is the view from 512.

Places on West Maui I like best.

I am so glad you enjoyed the trip, and thanks for sharing...we cannot afford to go to Hawaii right now, so bringing us this little bit of Aloha is wonderful!

    Thanks!
Life is short, live it with this awareness.

Great pictures! We own at Maui Hill and love the location, and the units.

Wow great pictures Walt! Now I really can't wait for our trip! Especially with all this winter weather we are having. It must have been hard for you to come home!

I am happy to hear that you liked the Kihei area. That you found it more convenient for certain things. We have never been to Maui and are looking forward to our stay at Maui Schooner.

Do More Than One Week If You Can!

It is a long ways to go for a vacation but worth it. If you are able to, go for more than one week. Even 10 days would be better. 2 or 3 week is best.

We have a second week on BI.

These are the third and fourth islands we will see in Hawaii. If we don't do one each week I'll never collect 'em all!

Even coming from the west coast we feel a minimum of two weeks is best.

I totally agree with Walt. It is so far for you to go to Maui, Lawren. We like Kihei as it is less congested than the Ka'anapali Beach area and you will like the Maui Schooner too.

Walt, I am glad you enjoyed your trip even with the trouble you had with getting what you bought. Owning, where the timeshare owners are in charge of the resort, is by far the best solution if the association is run well. They will try to keep the owners happy by keeping the resort nice and up to date but not let the costs go out of hand our gouge the owners.

                PS. Nice photos too.

Well, I happen to know that Lawren is going to the Big Island too. In fact we'll be at the same place the same week.

And I just saw that she had already posted about being on the Big Island.

Not always. We got Buffalo to Honolulu this year for $545. Back in 2000 when we went last time, I think it was around $700. Grant you, even $500 isn't cheap, but it's cheaper than our previous flights to Cancun, Grand Cayman etc.

My family was able to go from chicago to maui on United in 12/08 for $461 each. the plane was at most half full from the connected flight from the west coast to / from Maui, an indication of how the bad economy has affected travel. I will go to maui again this yr if I can find similiar low airfares again.

Thanks for the photos. We are going to be at the Kahana Falls resort the last week of April. I was glad to see some photos that were not just from the website. I orginally snagged this nearly 2 years ago for son & DIL to go for their anniversary, but now they cannot afford to go. At least I was smart enough to keep it in my name until it got closer to time for them to go - guess I've just known them too long! They can hardly plan something for the weekend, much less a year or so out. I on the other hand, always like to have a vacation scheduled so that I have something to look forward to.

What size Unit to you have. And do you have a unit number? I have the Resort map.

The Resort is not Ocean Front. But there are units where you can see the Ocean. We did not walk across the street to the Beach, but drove to other Beaches.
