Safe to book with Hawaiian Airlines?

I just booked the Westin Ka'anapali for our first ever Hawaii trip. Hawaiian airlines has the best rates as of now (it's for December) but I remember reading how many were stranded when the airline went bankrupt or something, so I am afraid to use them? Should I be? I can pay a bit more but have a stop on Alaskan airlines.

Hawaiian is the major player in the Hawaii market, no need to worry any more than any other airline.

I believe you are thinking of Aloha Airlines, not Hawaiian Airlines. Aloha went belly up in March 2008 and left all passengers stranded. Hawaiian is the lone remaining Hawai-based airline.

Hawaiian Airlines is a very reliable airlines. I find it has the best rates to Hawaii for the class of service. It is a very long flight (one of the few that my better half and I will only go first class). Have a great time!!
