  • At Kona Hawaiian Resort this week

We got really lucky. We are in unit 27A which are the units closest to the ocean. So, our unit has a nice ocean view.

More importantly, since we are in line of sight to the lobby area, I have internet access from my unit! Woo hoo. I am composing this message while sitting on the balcony with blue skies (slightly VOGGY), cool breeze, birds singing, temp is a nice 68 degrees.

I LOVE THIS RESORT. Close to Kona Town and Costco. Close to the airport. It feels more like Hawaii than the Wailoloa area.

The furnishings in the Kona Hawaiian Resort are modest, just the way I like it. Bamboo shower doors. Hawaiian bed coverings. Wicker furniture. Dining room table on the balcony overlooking the ocean. Lovely. Just lovely.

Oh yeah, the concierge staff had a dog and pony show yesterday morning regarding various activities. They give you $100 Visa Charge card to attend an owner update. And, you get the discount activity card. They did a nice job staging that event with various local vendors displaying their signs and pitching their tours. It was very un Hawaiian in that the people sounded more like infomercial actors pitching a Shamwow! But, I found it very entertaining.

I think we stayed in the next building over. We got there after dark and it was raining so I thought I was hearing heavy rain during the night - turns out it was the ocean. We loved it there.

that's funny............thank you for loving our island. For the first time in 10 years, we've had no vog and pristine weather. We hope Madame Pele has finally tired of spewing lava.
