  • Amazing Bid On Ebay For KBC!

I have been watching the bids for Hawaii Resorts since Jan. 2009. In the past I have seen 1 Bedroom Units at KBC being sold for between $195 to $750. And sometimes no bids even being placed for the Units.

There is Deluxe Ocean View 1 Bedroom week for sale on Ebay. There was a starting bid at $399 listed on this unit last week and it got NO Bids and the listing ran out.

The same unit was relisted this week. With about 11 hours left in the bidding, the top bid is $4051.

There appears to be 6 bidders. Why would they bid this high after a no bid on the same Unit last week? What are they thinking?

eBay bids often don't result in a sale!

Don't forget, eBay bidders often end up doing a Houdini impression at auction end.. I hope this one closes for Thomas, but I'm sure he isn't holding his breath!

Sold for $5216, to a long-term buyer with 100% positive on 600 feedback. Maybe this week different buyers saw the listing?

I've seen similar things happen. I can't begin to explain it.

          Hit and Miss

I recently picked up a KBC ocean view one bedroom unit (EOY) for $570 on E-Bay. Seller didn't know that it was ocean view and seller wasn't aware of Diamond's ROFR. Ad had a picture of people rowing a boat (which most people bypass) and didn't name the resort. In my case, the ad slipped under the radar because of the seller's poor ad and lack of info. A week later another seller did the same thing and made the situation worse by providing some misinformation. After I pointed out that he had his facts wrong, he pulled the auction and re-listed. The original auction was going nowhere. The unit sold for several thousand after that. Some sellers just don't realize that they can hinder their sale with drab illustrations, poor promotion lines and misinformation. In my case, I benefited. In other cases it makes the difference between a strong selling price and no action at all.

I've purchased 4 timeshares on ebay over the years and the last one I purchased for .99cents because the seller was a non-profit that had no idea how to use ebays title as a search engine so it got no bids and I got a nice 2 bedroom oceanfront unit in Hollywood which I plan to use every year. Much cheaper than renting a 2 bedroom in the same place with a low maintenance fee of only $450 & closing costs of $150. So I'm pleased as punch with my ebay acquisitions. But I think that alot of sellers have no idea what they are doing. The ones that do it full time are making money on the closing costs. I'm not sure where they get their cheap inventory from but I've purchased those too with not too much competition either. I love ebay. Ebays also a great place to find last minute rentals from owners who have no idea how to market their week for sale. Have picked up a few $99 weeks in 1 bedrooms on the West Coast of Florida this way. Can't beat that.

I'll need to make it a point to check eBay listings.
