Went 20 years ago when Pan Am was still flying and got free airfare (brother is an airline employee). Now that I've got to pay to torture myself with this flight I'll go when Disney opens the new resort in Ko Olina and then take a cruise to the other islands.
Maybe I'll get lucky like Stress cadet and get a nice trade with my newly acquired Marriott.
I'm just too spoiled being so close to the Caribbean and Mexico which in my opinion have better beaches and the flight is cheap and easy.
We have never been and I'm not sure if we ever will go. We love the beaches on Grand Cayman and own 3 weeks there so I haven't been able to justify the flight time (jet lag) or expense to go somewhere with so few oceanfront resorts or great beaches right outside your door.
Maybe we'll go once just to be able to say we have been.
Hawaii is culturally unique (as is everywhere), but the "Spirit of Aloha" is what brings me back.
I also love real Hawaiian food, but that's another story.
Yes, things have changed and not for the best in many categories, but when I'm on the North Shore with a "shave ice" from the Pancy Pancy store, all is well again.
Technically been to Hawaii (between MAC flights), but don't plan to go again. Mostly because I hated the hassles of flying BEFORE 9-11, so not enthused about anywhere I can't drive to. Wouldn't turn down a free offer to go there, but there are plenty of other places I'd be just as happy to go that are easier to get to.
Have been there four times, going back October 2010. Always look forward to being there again, in spite of the changes, and years in between visits...
(do not count stopovers between USA and Australia, Fiji, etc)

Same here. We have been to Hawaii twice. First time went to Big Island and Honolulu. Second time went to Maui and Molokai. Want to go to Kauai and have been checking dates for next year using FF miles and Marriott points.

Yes, that "aloha" brings us back again and again....also, love the malasadas at Tex on BI......only time we ever look forward to such a food!
First it was every few years.
Then it was every other year.
Then we tried 2 out of three years.
Last year was our year not to go, not again.
We plan to go every year because we missed it so much.
Look forward to a time we will be able to use all 6 weeks we own ourselves instead of arrainging weeks for friends and family.
Never been there, have no plans to go in the immediate future. One day maybe just to see Hawaii, but only once. Too long a flight from NYC and I prefer the Caribbean.
