  • Sands of Kahana owner reservations

We will not be able to use our 2010 week at SOK. Can we bank it with the resort or must we use an exchange company?
As this is a new purchase that has not closed yet we do not have access to web site for this info.

Banking at SOK as a new owner

There are 2 ways to bank.

    1. For a fee you can bank through Sands of Kahana. You won't be able to bank until title has transferred though. Call the SOK and ask for guest owner services at 1-808-669-0400. They will ask you for your eight digit ID that starts with 008.... When I last looked into this the cost was $95 for a year. It will allow you to stay at the SOK next year.
    2. You can also bank through your timeshare trading company (probably Interval International). But again, you'll need to have the title transferred and need to have your owner number. To do so, you need to make a reservation at your home resort (SOK) and then deposit it with II. They will ask for the reservation number. There will be a fee when you make an exchange and I believe that the deposit is good for up to 2 years. When you make your reservation, shoot for a high demand period and try to schedule it out a ways (that is, don't reserve something that is only say 60 days out) to maximize your tradeability. But when you make a deposit, I don't think that you have any guarantee that you will be able to use it at the SOK. But you could use it elsewhere. You might try calling Consolidated Resorts (they handle SOK) and ask your questions to make sure that my understanding is accurate. Their number is 1-800-775-8463.

In either case, you will need to pay your maintenance fee for the year in which the reservation is made.

      banking

Thank you for the info. I had booked week 52 thinking I could rent it out. I do not exchange any of my HI weeks, living in Minnesota they are easier to rent out. It is nice to know I have another option as this is an EOY unit
