I am wondering if I can get some information. I currently have reservations at the Marriott Ko Olina the last week of July 2010. I put in for an exchange from 2009 at Ko Olina for a week at the Marriotts in Maui and the Westin Kaanapali timeshares. I gave them a May 24th week from 2009 and made the reservation over a year in advance.
Up to now I have heard nothing. I put my request in for a week before and a week after my Ko Olina stay. I have yet to make plane reservations as I don't know which way it will go if at all.
I have a couple of questions:
1, What do you think my chances are of getting into one of thos properties at that time of year? I am trading and requesting a 2 bedroom.
2. Are there any other nice resorts that I should be placing on my list of possible places to stay.
3. How long should I wait until before I give up since I need to make plane reservations? I don't want all of the planes to fill up or airfare become so high that I cannot afford to go.
I do have a backup plan as I have reserved Diamond Resorts International's Ka'anapali Beach Resort for a week before and a week after my Ko Olina week. However, I want to use the exchange before it expires in 2011. Also, the Ka'anapali Beach Resort does not have a stove or a washer dryer inside of the room and I understand it is a little ways out from the main area in Maui.
Maui is the last island in Hawaii that I have yet to visit. I want to have a great time while I am there.
Any information that you have about any of the resorts or questions I have posed would be appreciated.
