Courier-Express/Tri-County - Treasure Lake issue back in court
......The Treasure Lake Borough initiative and Sandy Township's objections to it are headed for a higher court. Township Manager Dick Castonguay told the supervisors Monday that the township received an order from the state Commonwealth Court saying it will consider the issues between the township and the Treasure Lake Property Owners Association. Treasure Lake is a gated community in Sandy Township east of DuBois. The court's order, dated Dec. 16, said it will consider whether time-share properties and campground lots have continuous, uninterrupted exercise of ownership of land in order to be considered "freeholders" and eligible to sign an incorporation petition. The ruling would determine whether the Clearfield County Court of Common Pleas had jurisdiction to proceed with incorporation proceedings.......
