We are looking heavily at this resort. Anyone have experience here, i.e. own or have stayed at? Is there enough activities there for a family of four? What are the accommodations like, the facilites, etc.? I do not see many on resale locations; is there a good site to find something for sale on these? I am keeping a close eye on the ebay, bidshares, etc. sites. Any information on this resort would be appreciated.

Yeah, Shenandoah Crossing is a Bluegreen Resort. Here is the website for the resort: Shenandoah Crossing
There are a lot of owners on this site for this resort. See VVTrader. He owns a bunch of them and is probably willing to rent you some time there.
Wow, that's a long screen name. Just think if you daughter joins the message board. Her screen name could be:
daughterofsusquehannaretriever
that would be a mouthful...

http://shenandoah-crossing.com/ is the website for the resort.
There is A LOT to do there. I think the remote control racecar track is quite novel. The cabins are undergoing refurbishment and are relatively private but I wouldn't really call them "plush". The lodge units are more "hotelish" but very nice, way closer to plush.
Most Bluegreen properties are very nice.
This resort is best for people who enjoy nature, not the people wanting to be where the action is. While there is plenty to do onsite, you're surrounded by beauty, not neon. Pools, game room, planned activities, horseback riding, the lake with boats available... I'd say you can be as busy as you want to be.
I have a couple weeks reserved there if you're interested in a trial run. Feel free to pm me.
You might consider Bluegreen Points if you're looking at buying, and request a deed there so you have priority. The points will allow you access to all BG resorts (check the link Boca gave for other resorts).

Hey, glad you found your way over here from TUG. I will defer to Board Girl who has more seniority as to renting you a place. Boca Bum has done a great job on the Bluegreen site that you can access from the resort chains section of this message board. There Boca and some of the other UDI owners gave great explanations on the Christian Mountain Village and Shenandoah Crossing property usage. Here's just one example:http://www.timeshareforums.com/showthread.php?t=7449
but I of course suggest you read through the whole bluegreen message board to get a better understanding not only of Shenandoah Crossing but the Bluegreen Resort company.
After reading, make a list and Bruce CZ, Tom, Boca and some of the others will be glad to give you answers. After reading through I thought they were so great that I bought two. I know there is one for sale on TUG and there is a huge point one for sale that Boca might be able to help you on but it's pricy. Haven't seen that many on other sites and I think alot that I saw on some other sites were expired.

Just wanted to say thanks for the answers on this resort. I am keeping my eyes peeled for a good deal. This resort sounds like it would work for us so I am hopeful that I can find something.
Again thanks and I am sure I will have other questions as they occur to me.

Besides being able to use the resort frequently due to your proximity, I would encourage you to look into an inexpensive RCI points resort to transfer your SC weeks for RCI points. That way you can go stay in the condominium units in Florida, Hawaii, etc. that people want to trade into. I got an every third year points resort called Peace Canyon in Las Vegas and can use the points there or in other RCI resorts. This particular resort group Daily Managemnt Inc. has resorts in several different places in Florida as well. You would get preference over other RCI folks when trying to use these resorts due to affiliation.
I think Bruce CZ tries to sell his Christmas Village with these RCI points so that people use the two together. He explains it in his own inimitable way and there are some in the classifieds here on this board. Good luck.
