  • Need Georgetown hotel recommendation

Preferably within walking distance of W. 36th Street and Prospect St NW.
Is that "Georgetown North" for Priceline? Doesn't look like Foggy Bottom, but my DCography is pretty bad.

I dont know Priceline DC areas too well either. Have you looked at betterbidding and biddingfortravel? They usually have good info for major metro areas.

Yes I looked but I think I need to bid Georgetown North and I think the area may be too broad to turn up something walkable.

Any hotel reco nearby would be helpful, all I can come up with online is the Ritz Carlton, and it doesn't look that close and I don't want to stay/pay there.

Thanks for the hotel reco. Rates look ok for my dates.
It's the first time I've seen a government rate higher than "best available." I wonder if that's typical in Washington

I see that a lot at Marriott.com. Strange.

So we ended up at Georgetown Suites due to a family member's cancellation - I am tempted to leave a timeshare review since it is a timeshare-like property and inexpensive enough to compete with the points systems. There is certainly a need for timeshare in the area.

We had a huge (800 sf) one-bedroom suite. Cost was $145/night for Sat and Sunday nights. Full kitchen. Kitchen in dire need of refurb, the a/c was noisy, and I'm not used to sharing one bathroom among four of us, but at $145/night in the heart of Georgetown, it was more than good enough especially since I'd have needed two hotel rooms otherwise. Oh, free daily breakfast (continental but a decent spread), free wifi (not fabulous), and daily housekeeping. Parking is self-park underground lot at $20/day. Checkout is at noon, but they let us leave the car later.

There are studios available, too, 500 s.f. I think, rates were $115 for the same nights.

Weeknights are higher. Best rates are online and booked either after midnight ("midnight madness" rates) or last minute. Rates for next weekend are $120/night for the studio and $150/night for the bedroom. Also a two bedroom for $300/night - not t/s rates, but just mentioning fyi.

I did walk by the Latham hotel around the block on M street - looked nice and again, great location in Georgetown. The Four Seasons is two blocks away.

This is not really walking distance to a Metro stop. But there were sightseeing buses all over the place, I'm guessing some might have been HoHo. In the few hours we had to be tourists, we left the car at a Metro station near my brother's in VA. I'm guessing that wouldn't work during the week.
