Massannutan for Christmas...any suggestions

Hey, we are finally coming upon our trip to Massannutan and I was wondering if anyone would suggest anything in particular...we have never skied before and we will probably try a little of that...at least snow tubing.

Do I need snow chains and where do I get those?

From south Louisiana so not familiar with driving in snow...any hints would be welcomed!

We have done Massanutten twice at that time of year. It is an easy trade or a cheap RCI rental, and a nice resort.

The resort and also local authorities nearby are good about ploughing the snow, but one year we were there on one day the snow was so heavy that it was difficult to drive around. You should be able to get chains at a Wal-mart or an auto supply store, but I am not sure they stock them down where you live!

There are several caverns nearby which are spectacular as well as a War Between the States battlefield, famous for the charge by the teenage VMI cadets which won the day for the south.
