Hard to tell with the drifts looks like a foot and a half.

I have power (obviously) but there is a good 6 foot chunk of evergreen on the wires. Hopefully some one will get it down before bad things happen. Same damn property that took me out for days during Sandy too.

Northern NJ has about 10" but roads are plowed, I'll should be able to get out and about later this morning. Glad it's over and no one suffered too much damage!

Frank - if your neighborhood is like mine, you'll soon be woken up by the lovely sounds of numerous monster snowblowers!

Pat G - hope DD gets to recuperate today from the Jittney trip from He!!

Susan - I'll look for you from the cheap seats at the Manilow concert tonight!

Heck Tony, I started snow removal just to get what is there off the driveway. It will take two passes to clear what is there now. Another pass later. We have another 3 inch an hour band over us right now.

The guy across the street did the whole block on his side of the street. Why why could he not have lived on my side.

It took my dd's boss 5 1/2 hrs to get home last night....Normally a 30 minute drive. Cars were stranded all over the LIE, and she was at a stand still on the service road. She left work at 4PM. She's so lucky that she didn't run out of gas.

We have about 20" of snow by me.......Thankfully, we didn't lose electricity!

Hope everyone got home safe & sound last night!

Everyone stay safe and warm, so far we have power but the trees are bent waaaay over with the heavy slushy wet snow.

Good luck - hope they make it home soon.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

The wind chill here at 7:30 AM this morning was -10, so I was in no rush to go outside.

UGH I HATE the cold weather.

We have about 2 feet here. There are cars stranded all over the LIE at our exit. Just sitting there in the middle of the highway. Unheard of. The expressway is cleared through exit 51 so it should reach my exit in a few hours. Pat I have no idea when they will be able to clear all the way out east to you.

Less than 1/2 inch of snow. Finally found something good about South Jersey besides our beaches (which didn't fare well during Sandy).

Understood. I can handle cold and wind chill better than most. Sun is now peeking thru the clouds.

My wife worked faster than my snow blower, my snow blower felt it needed to take a break here and there. Then when we said it was time to put the snow blower to the curb it went back and started to work again putting along and dieing here and there. I knew old Betsy would not let me down but it did say hey it is time to see its maker.
I think this might be its last season Betsy is going to be living here since it is not worth storing for next season.

Billy I should have bought yours, my wife felt that I was going to try to keep both since I had fixed mine up last year and she knows I hate to part with things.

I just went out and shoveled off the walk to the driveway and a short path in the driveway. Wind chill at about 2 below, so I didn't even finish my robusto before I gave up when my hands got too cold. I'll probably go back out and shovel off the deck later and get the snow thrower out for the driveway tomorrow.

                              Sheesh you guys are crazy.
                              Stay inside.
We don't need to lose anybody.
Can't you just let the snow eventually melt?
Why do you have to blow it away already?
Enlighten me since I'm a warm sunbird.

Wow, that is rough (not the drink, that was surely very much appreciated). I am very glad we left when we did. We got about a foot where we are - DS said only 4 to 6" in the city. We were snowed in today until the plow came around 2 but it took so much effort to dig the cars out that we ended up staying put. Watched Funny Girl, a perfect snow day movie.
