Has anyone stayed here or know anything about the place. We are going there in December to show the kids the Christmas light show and parade they have.
I went to see it at night. It is not ocean front and it is on the Bay side without a bay view. It is 1 block from the bay and about 3 short blocks from the Jolly Rogers. If you have kids they will love the place including the go carts. The pool is right in the front and enclosed. My first impression was to tell you to pass on the resort but I spoke to someone staying there. They said the rooms are nice and up to date. They were owners and have been going there for years. They just upgraded the units with DVD players. The units have 3 levels. If I recall what the person said it has a bedroom on the top floor and 1 on the bottom floor. There is a brand new tennis court right in front.
The location of the resort is close to Secrets which is a must do. You are close to the broad walk which is good and bad. The traffic going near there in early evenings can get pretty bad. All in all you should have a good time in
OC. If you want restaurant info or places to go to let me know. BTW I took 2 pictures with my cell phone that I will try to post in a day or two.
I toured Ocean High while staying in another Ocean City timeshare over Thanksgiving 2006. I toured Unit 2, a three-bedroom plus den right on the water. It is 2-stories. Upstairs in the master bedroom, there is a queen-size bed. Each of the other bedrooms has 2 doubles in each of them. There are 3 bathrooms in the unit, 2 upstairs and one downstairs. "Bay view" or "Canal" units have their own boat dock. Here is a walk through description as you would come in the front door on the first floor: There is a closet on the left with a stackable washer and dryer. On the right is the den, which contains a sleep sofa and could be used as a fourth bedroom. The bathroom is in the hall. Further down the hall, walking toward the bay, is a formal dining room on the left and a kitchen on the right. Straight ahead is the living room which offer a gorgeous view of the bay. There are sliding glass doors to a balcony. From the balcony, you can walk down 4 steps and be at your boat dock. Back in the living room, take the stairs up to the second floor. Upstairs, ahead of the stairs, is a Jacuzzi room. On the left is a hall bath. There are 2 guest bedrooms. One has a balcony that overlooks the pool (no water view on this balcony). There is another small bathroom. The master bedroom also has a balcony and this one overlooks the water. Wow! I'd have my coffee here every morning. It has been refurbished three years ago. In November 2006, they were going to address water infiltration and black mold issues.
Although on the bay side, the location is good. McDonald's and Burger King are both on the bay side, within walking distance. There is also a mini market with deli. Best for families is that it is nearby Jolly Roger Amusement park, within walking distance.
Potential owners may cringe at the $935 maintenance fee PLUS you are required to take a second off-season week. The off-season week's maintenance fee is only $120 however. In addition, owners may rent off-season weeks (1-17 and 44-52) for only $200.
