    October 10, 2006

Tuesday we drove from The Homestead Resort
South along Route 220 to Covington, Virginia
then West on I-64 to White Sulphur Springs

The weather was perfect for mid October with
bright sunshine & warm temps in the low 70`s

The Fall Foliage was beautiful Orange - Reds
& Yellows highlight the mountains and valleys

When we arrived at The Greenbrier Main Gate.
We were greeted warmly by the Security Guard.

We introduced ourselves and told the guard that we were staying at
The Homestead Resort and would like to preview the resort and grounds.

The guard gave us directions to the main hotel parking area where we
were allowed to park in a special (valet) parking space not far from
    the main hotel entrance.

Once on the property we drove over to The Springs and The Outdoor Pool
The Pool overlooks the mountains and has one of the most beautiful settings
I have ever seen for a swimming pool. The weather was perfect for a dip.

Then we went inside the Greenbrier Hotel. Walking around this Grande Hotel
was like taking a tour of a Historic Mansion. The only difference is guests
are allow to stay at the hotel and enjoy the (6,500 acre estate) property.

We took 300 photos Tuesday - Three of my favorites are of Little Lucky at:

Our whole family stayed at the Greenbrier for my in-laws 50th anniversary.

There is also a "bunker" way underneath the main building that can be toured. It was built for the representatives and senators in case of nuclear attack.
