My home is in Blacksburg. I'm less than 2 mi. from Norris Hall.
My town is in horror and in shock.
Va Tech has always been in my life in many ways.
We need prayer. We want answers, we need hugs.

My niece Julianne is a student there...she was in lockdown in the biology lab with a couple of professors and several other students. We got word about an hour ago that she was escorted home by the police and is now safe...thank God...she is very shaken, of course...such crap in the world...

Blacksburg is such a beautiful area and VT is just wonderful. Our son and nephew graduated from VT 3-4 years ago. How frightening for the students,families and staff.

It's absolutely hearbreaking. I can't imagine the terror that families went through just waiting for news. My heart and prayers go out to everyone. I saw a photo of a police officer getting in the back of a van as they left campus. He just put his head down on his arm and cried.

Virginia Tech is our alma mater. We were there 2 weeks ago today, walking around campus, taking pictures, commenting on what's the same and what's different. We walked right by Norris and AJ, and we both had classes in Norris way back when. Now we are empty. Tech was our home for 4 years and will forever be a part of us. Our love goes out to everyone affected.
