VA. Beach-Gold Key Resort?

I've seen a few sightings lately for TS in VA Beach. I've been their many times but have never stayed in a timeshare resort (A summer exchange is extremely difficult and a rental is also hard to get and or expensive )

What I did notice is that Gold Key Resorts seems to have a lock on the newer TS resorts being built in VA Beach and was wondering if anybody has taken a tour/sales presen. at any of the Gold Key Resorts?

Are they strickly fixed weeks? can you exchange between Gold Key Resorts? Point system? ( I know that they exchange thru II.)

Any info on this developer would be great (they seem to flying under our forum radar)

I own at Beach Quarters, which is a Gold Key resort. The weeks and units at Beach Quarters are fixed. Other Gold Key resorts have fixed weeks, but floating units. I believe the newest resort may be right to use for a limited number of years. All resorts exchange through II. You cannot exchange between resorts, except through a regular II exchange. There is no point system. Their resorts are some of the nicer timeshares in VA Beach. They vary in size and amenities. If you would like to tour a Gold Key resort, e-mail me. We own a two bedroom lock off at the Ocean Beach Club Resort. We trade it each year, for two weeks at other locations. We go to Florida each year. Interval International is the exchange agency for us. We have only been there once, but it is a beautiful resort. We own Unit 802, Week 6, so even in the dead of winter the unit exchanges very well, that is why we haven't be too upset about selling it for some place else.The maintenance fees have remained stable since we bought it in 2005. I have owned at Gold Key Resorts for about 8 years. They dominate the Ocean front in Virginia Beach, though there are some RCI resorts they are older and are in need of updating, having stayed in one before, if you like quality they would not be an option. Gold Keys newest resort Ocean Beach Club is on par to most high quality resorts, like the Hiltons, and Westins.

They are a fixed week and exchange very well in II regardless of which week you own. I own week two and have never had a problem exchanging through II except for July back to my home resort. From what I understand however they are working on an internal exchange program this summer which would make it easier to exchange even in those summer months.

Occassionally, they will take a trade in (at least they did for one of my friends) if the resort is paid for and is on the list of ones they accept.
