We own a cottage at King's Creek and they're ENORMOUS. The 2br townhouses there are also enormous, and there's a sort of TV room area that is almost like another bedroom.

We have three kids and we bought at King's Creek because we realized the delightful potential for putting our teenager in the lock-off 1br while the more civilized members of the family stayed in the large, luxurious 2br side.

My oldest is getting into the "tweens" period (she is 11) of life and she is finding it a challange living with her 8-year old brother and 3.5-year old sister so I think you can appreciate my challange some.

We love our Killington unit as with 4-bedrooms there is room for everybody to spread out... I am not so sure what I was thinking with having three kids but god they are great when they are not bickering

Also King Creek is right next door to Water Country USA voted in the top 20 best water parks in the United States.

The three bedroom cottages are very nice and that one bedroom lockout unit is my 13 yrs old grandson hideway.

We own two t/s in the WMBG area and my son owns at King Creek.
WMBG is a great spot for family gathering.

          Enjoy your week.

            Ghost Tours

The last time we were to Williamsburg we went on the Ghost Tour. It leaves from Merchant Square at dusk, and you walk to all the haunted sites by lanternlight. Really cool!

It's been several years, so I hope it's still a running tour.

We need to rent or sell our Shawnee week first... I only get two weeks vacation and we go Skiing in February so only 5-days vacation left for the year

Would Shawnee rent it out for you?

Oh, wait--I thought someone in Wburg was offering to do a direct exchange with you for the Shawnee week. No?

No, that would have been a deed swap but they decided they wanted something different so no glory... I need to just sell and then be patient and find the right deal for us later.

I saw a really nice Cape Cod 3BR week recently as well that I would have purchased so we are looking at all the options out there.

Three bedrooms in Cape Cod! That WOULD be nice! Good luck with the sale. If all else fails, you could always buy another Shawnee week 33 and put the kids in there. We've exchanged for two units at the same place a couple of times and that has worked out very well. Of course our oldest is 17 now, so it's easier when you have one kid who's old enough to look like "the babysitter."

A very nice hidden jewel for outstanding fresh seafood eating is the River's Inn located just over the Coleman Bridge (there is a toll on the Coleman Bridge; one or two dollars to cross ; no toll fee to return to WMBG)l for lunch and dinner. About a twenty-minute drive from Kings Creek Plantation T/S.

Address is 8109 Yacht Haven Road

I did a search and all I see are Williamsburg, OR is what you meant that Yorktown has a beach and is close to Williamsburg? (it has been a while, and it's midnight here and I just got home from work )
I only was making info available. You are correct - NO resort at Yorktown.
Seems they don't care to give up the quaint rural feel.

Let me know if and when you are to be here. I'll treat at the Pub.

btw: Yorktown Beach is in no way Virginia Beach. It is not a resorty fun spot.

IMO, VB is a must see for tourist. Our younger set prefer to hangout at YB.
VB is too crowded... no place to park... expended time and fuel & an unnecessary hastle.

Thanks! We really want to go back to Williamsburg. DH has been campaigning for it. Maybe next April!

                                Yorktown Beach

                                I guess we're of a different opinion.

We love Yorktown. The free parking is close, its not crowded, the beach house and bathrooms are right there, its 20 minutes from Williamsburg and accessible by backroads even in rush hour.

We go to the state park at Vir Beach one day in a two week visit, but Yorktown at least twice. Did I mention Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream beween the parking lot and the beach?
