I found someone that offered a trade for our Poconos week but I am not sure I want Williamsburg in the Middle of August.
I stayed there in August of 2006. There were one or two brutal days but it was nice overall.

A four bedroom unit would be very nice. When driving to VA Bch travel after 9am and on your return trip travel after 6:30pm to avoid the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel traffic.

Seems they don't care to give up the quaint rural feel.

Let me know if and when you are to be here. I'll treat at the Pub.

btw: Yorktown Beach is in no way Virginia Beach. It is not a resorty fun spot.

IMO, VB is a must see for tourist. Our younger set prefer to hangout at YB.
VB is too crowded... no place to park... expended time and fuel & an unnecessary hastle.
Not true! There are public parking lots at 9th street and 19th street and there are metered parking for those who arrive early. It does get crowded but if you arrive early you can find a spot. I might suggest driving on down to our hidden jewel several miles south....Sandbridge Beach. There is usually plenty of parking at Little Island and there are public restrooms, a NEW bath house, covered picnic tables, tennis courts, kayak rentals and a cool fishing pier.
The problem with real life is that there is no background music.

          Williamsburg in the summer

Yes, it will be hot and humid. We were there last July but was not unbearable.

We stayed at Kings Creek Plantation. Great pools. If you go get a one week pass to Bush Gardens and Water Country. You can get a one week ticket for the 2 combined for little more than the cost of one day to each. The kids will have a ball at the 2 places and you can go as often as you like. Kings Creek was a great location since it is right next to Water Country and close to Bush Gardens.
