We were there a couple of years ago for Thanksgiving week. I think the weather was cold and damp. Not terrible, but not leaf-peeping weather either.
BTW, we went thinking that the Poconos would be like where we live, with tons of restaurants that serve Thanksgiving dinner. Nope! We hunted everywhere and only about three fancy hotel restaurants served lunch till about two, then they slammed their doors and it was all over. People had obviously made reservations long in advance. We finally found a good Polish place in Stroudsburg called Jaga--they were lovely and we had a great meal, but it's not fancy AT ALL, a real local diner-like place. So if you go Thanksgiving week, have a plan for eating Thanksgiving dinner. (We had arrived late Wednesday night, so we hadn't even gotten groceries.)
I don't know about the whirlpools, but I know Quail Hollow doesn't have them and I know River Village II at Shawnee doesn't have them. I think they do have them at Ridge Top Summit at Shawnee.
Two BR units at treetops and Fernwood have the whirpool bathtubs.
Just because a unit has a hot tub does not mean you will want to use it no matter how much you wanted to go use a hot tub. After seeing some of the old Hot tubs of the Pocconos with all the stains on them you may want to forget about going in for a dive and cut that part out of your trip.
We were just at Shawnee Ridge Top Summit, allegedly the newest part of that resort complex, last week.
Our DIL decided to use the jacuzzi in the unit. After she filled it, she turned it on and it started circulating gross brown liquid. FWIW, that was just part of an overall housekeeping and up-keep issue we saw at that resort.
Too bad about Shawnee. I agree that they have a maintenance problem there, but I was hoping that things had improved. It seemed better last time we were there.
The Poconos are a very nice place to visit, lots to do and to see, and some beautiful, beautiful scenery.
The units at Willowbrook at Lake Harmony have hot tubs. This is a beautiful new timeshare development on Split Rock property. You have the advantage of staying in a classy unit and the ability to use all the amenities offered at Split Rock. Even though the units in the main building are older we prefer to stay there so we don't have to drive back and forth.
