Wow, scary! Has anyone heard of that timeshare? Is it in II? I've never seen it in RCI.

Oh! Eagle Village at Tamiment only has four units? I see it all the time at RCI. I had no idea it was so tiny. Thanks for posting, Rikki!

The buildings are quadriplexes (four villas per building).. I forget how many buildings total- but it's a decent number..

Only one villa actually burned at one of the buildings. (1 of 4)

Almost took a last call vacation there in a couple of weeks. Glad I chose to go elsewhere, as with my luck it was probably unit I was supposed to be in.

How scary! When we used to stay in motels, I had a travel fire alarm that could be attached to the door. Don't know if it would ever work, but thank goodness I never had to use it. I have taught my family to make sure they know how they can escape any place we stay in a hurry. In a hotel, that means counting the doorways to the fire-escape stairwells on each side of the hallway. Any kind of disaster, fire, theft, etc. is such a traumatic event, especially when on vacation.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but we just stayed at Eagle Village. Very strange place. Our unit actually faced this building in the picture (which is units 1060-1062). The woman at the front desk said they had three different fire chiefs out there and no one could say how the fire started, so someone doesn't have their story straight. She did say if you can get 1060-1062, they're now the nicest in the complex with hardwood floors and flat-screen televisions all around.

I'll put in a review of the resort later, but Eagle Village is part of what was once a whole resort (Tamiment) that evidently closed down in 2003 or thereabouts. The timeshare units had heavily relied on the resources of the greater resort, and now that it's not there (well, part of it is there, abandoned, and the other has been torn down -- there is rubble) it's clear that they're struggling. They do have a brand new pool and rec center and playground, along with a very basic 9-hole mini golf course. If you're staying in the Poconos, you could do worse as far as exchanges go. But if you can, ask for the treehouse units. They're closer to the lake. Our unit was up by the office, as was the unit where the fire was.
