  • Shawnee - where is this unit?

Poconos owners and exchangers... please help.

    Shawnee Unit # R161 in "Ridgetop" - 2BR/2.5 bath sleeps 8.

Is this in Ridgetop Village or in Ridgetop Summit?
(Village is standard in II, w/wood-burning fp; Summit has a gold emblem in II, w/gas fp)

Does Wyndham call this unit a 2BR or a 2BR Deluxe? Does the unit have a jacuzzi and/or loft?
(designated for different amounts of Wyndham points)

    Thanks for sharing info!!!

Good questions. It sounds like you are using points? I wonder if Summit would be considered "deluxe" and the older Ridge Top section would be a regular two bedroom. This might be a way to differentiate them. This would be good to know. I have called the resort in the past about unit locations and gotten answers that way. There also used to be a website (I was on it a few months ago) that actually had a link to a map with unit numbers. It was something like: shawnee exchange guest. I googled it now and it doesn't seem to come up anymore. The site had virtual tours and pictures of the different unit styles with info about jacuzzis, etc. Maybe someone here can offer more specific info. Otherwise, I would call.

I've been a bit surprised to see River Village and Depuy offered in points. We have stayed in both and they really aren't comparable to other Wyndhams we have visited. I predict Wyndham owners would be quite disappointed.

Thanks for responding. The Wyndham points charts show a significant difference in the number of points needed to stay in each of 4 regimes. Each is listed separately on the Wyndham website with information about the rooms and the time period when each was constructed. So if someone wants a more rustic style or they want to save points and go with 1980's style condos, they can. If they want newer construction, they can reserve that. Unfortunately, none of the 4 pages include a link to a resort map.

So I still would like to know...

Your best bet is to call for location and ask if the map is available online somewhere.

I agree that it is nice to have options there with different points amounts. I suppose if they say the units are from a certain era, that will be sufficient. But some are VERY rustic, eg. a "renovated" River Village II unit that had only open shelves instead of upper cupboards and an old round red tub for one person in the bathroom. Not typical Wyndham.
