  • Branson Time coming...

    maybe May/June timeframe this year.

Just wondering how many will be there while we are. I often wonder how many TS4Ms folk are milling around at the resort or sitting a seat or two away while at the shows.

Tucson and Yorktown couples plan to meet at Branson in celebration of anniversaries. I hope to burn off TSs this year and take in several shows.

Maybe I can form-up a get-to-gather. Send emails if you plan to be in Branson this spring/early summer.

Been checking for favorable temperatures and rainfall in May/June, at Branson?

Haven't booked TSs yet, waiting for sister to get time-off OKed.

Trying to figure out which TSs to book. None of us do stairs very well, with our ailments and all!

I have several RCI WEEK deposits to burn, plus many Wyndham points to make use of in 2012.

We hope our medical conditions continue to allow such traveling.

      Robert,
Happy to hear that you and Carole are both well enough to travel this coming year. May 2012 treat you better than 2011 did. Enjoy your travels.

We always go in April. Not as crowded.

We stayed at Mountain Vista last year beginning Memorial Day weekend. Weather was good, temps in the 80s, not terribly humid. Luckily we missed the floods of the previous month or two. Hope to get there this year but not sure when.

              Which resort to Choose

Hunting through several reviews to find; less noise, elevators, 3 or 4 bedrooms...
Do any have free Wi-Fi access?
We would just as soon not be right near the Strip. Which resorts are located a few block to a mile away? Any at all?

Do you find decent airfare? Which dates and time of day? I'm finding the rates increase after April.

So, are the rain days higher in April, then in May?

None of the resorts are on the strip. A number of them are a block to a mile away. Then, there golf resorts, and lake resorts.

May is nicer than April, but availability decreases after schools are out.

Oh yeah, I've told you all that.

Last year, on JLB's advice, we booked our stay at Wyndham Mountain Vista. It's next to the Welk resort. Nice place, good location, away from the bigger resort. There are a lot of handicap parking spots, accessible units, and elevators. We enjoyed it. That late May-early June time was nice and not too busy. We quickly mastered the shortcuts and side roads that enabled us to stay off the strip and avoid traffic when we wanted to be away from it all.

                    Nice that members share

Thank you JLB and all the rest of you.

Hope to see you there. Will know when, pretty soon.

Don't know when kids stop school.

Don't know when humidity gets bad. It gets up around July at Yorktown.

If you can't tolerate/enjoy Branson's May weather, there won't be a later month you can.

We enjoy late March/April, also, when things (dogwood, forsythia, red buds, etc. are in bloom). If your nose still works, the fragrance is wonderful.

April/May are great fishing months, provided the lake level is not askew, as it was last year. During a normal year, I catch enough for the year before June, off my bruish piles under the dock.

In the event this thread becomes reference for Branson availability, yes, on or about August 15th, things screech to a semi-halt (Endosummer), some shows take a hiatus, etc.

Of course, if this was the Branson forum, there would be that inner clique that would now feel obligated to post that things are never slow in Branson, that it is the busiest place they have ever seen, all the time.

Perhaps they don't actually work in/with, or know anyone that works in/with, Branson shows or attractions.

                            Thank you Lawren.

Looks like we are safe, with anytime in May.

We like nature 'coming alive', but hope rain cooperates as we tour the area.

Jim, fishing from the dock would be fun. Climbing up would be a chore. My oldest has a phrase he uses often when I talk like that; "WAA WAA"
