and see what the value and assessment is for the property

I wouldn't plan on that being market value.

When I was dealing with my mother's houses in Des Moines and Council Bluffs, I went online and could find all government information (age, square footage, valuation, assessment, sales dates, etc.) about those properties, and any properties around them for as far as I wanted to spread out.

I just looked at the Des Moines house on-line and it is really cute. The guy that bought it had a monumental task but it looks like he did good. He bought it 9/3/2003 and flipped it 4/19/2005, for twice the money.

I doubt that he made much.

About the same story for the Council Bluffs house.
