French Lick, Indiana, a town with high unemployment and lower than average annual income is planning a comeback of casino gambling after a 60-year absence. The area, in southern Indiana, was once known for luxury hotels that attracted the rich and famous from around the country. Restoration work is now being finalized on the French Lick Springs Resort, one of two hotels undergoing renovation. Over $382 million is being spent in the hopes of healing the financial misfortunes of the area.
Meanwhile The Sun Herald reports that Harrah's Entertainment is backpedaling on, or at the very least delaying, its commitment to build a world-class casino resort in Biloxi. I dont own there but have really enjoyed staying there on a few last call weeks. I unfortunatley did not buy a 2 bed 4th of july week for $350 because Wifey said enough is enough. I even tried its my b-day week! Still a no go. Hopefully I'll still get the last calls every now and again. French lick is just a great place to visit. My last 2 trips were summer trips. We packed a tent. spent a few nights in The Villas and camped a few the State park just west of Holiday World. Great times and I think the kids like camping more than staying in the condos. My only thing is how to get a hottub in the tent.Comment

I went to the Casino on Monday. Lots of construction outside still, Very big crowd inside. In fact it was so crowded I didn't look around much, What I saw looks very nice. In a few months it should be really nice.Comment
