    New Stuff.

First, a real Branson Airport, to be located south of Hollister and east of HWY 65. 7140 foot runway. Up to 750,000 enplanements per year. 30 year contract with the City of Branson. Completion summer, 2009.

Indian Ridge. Huge upscale development that will extend from Silver Dollar City to HWY 13 in Branson West and from 76 HWY to the lake. Houses, condos, hotels, retail, golf course, marina, 3rd largest indoor water park in the country.

Branson Hills. North of Branson near RecPlex, Target, Home Depot, Chili's. WalMart Supercenter and Sam's going in. Will include Payne Stewart golf course.

Branson Creek. 7500 acres south of Branson, east of 65 HWY. Still going. Second golf course, John Daly's Murder Rock (John is from nearby Univ. of AR).

Stonebridge Village. Still growing. Formerly Cooper, now being developed by MPI. Only private country club in Branson, Ledgestone.

Saddlebrook. North of Branson, east of 65 HWY. Large, estate-style residential development.

Branson Landing. Still growing with hotels, convention center and condos.

Those are the biggies, the $100 million to billion-plus ones. There are smaller ones all over the place.

Branson sure isn't the quite little town I knew as a child back when my grandparents were bringing me there in the late 60's. It almost appears as if Branson is trying hard to become the Orlando of the midwest..........without a Disney park that is. Wouldn't want the states AG to think I was starting another Disney rumor.

I was reminded OY of a few other projects.

Pinnacle Falls, a huge development planned for across the road from Celebration City, from the folks who owned Mutton Hollow, which was where Celebration City now is.

John Q Hammons 5-star highrise luxury hotel/resort/TS next to the Chateau.

Mr. Seagull's highrise on Emerald Point (which will block the lakeview of the homes behind it, sorta upslope).

Then, there are two sizeable condo projects at various stages at the Kimberling City Bridge, one to be a highrise on the north side next to the Kimberling Inn, and the other on the first road on the south side, Point Seven.

There are numerous smaller condo, residential, and investment real estate projects all over the place. I wonder how big a pie this is, and if there are enough folks wanting a slice.

I had not intended to go in this direction, but if you know someone who needs a slice, here is a blatant, crass, self-serving ad:

Table Rock Lake Lakehome, Lake and Boating Club lake real estate, lake property, lake home, for sale, properties, homes, lakefront, waterfront

I just read in Endless Vacation that Kauai has a law forbidding buildings taller than palm trees (yeah, yeah, I know, they have some pretty tall palm trees ). When we were sitting on the beach in front of the LBR, the lady whose husband was responsible for that stopped and talked to us for about an hour. A real character!

Branson has always sorta been that way, but now buildings are going up instead of out.

Tidbits from the Springfield Business Journal.

The Dick Clark Theater is not owned by Dick Clark (sorta like the Dixie Stampede is not owned by Dolly Parton). The Dick Clark Theater encompasses 22 acres including the adjacent Ramada Inn. A person has been hired to organize and promote car events there, which are a big deal in Branson.

The man who owns it also owns Branson Creek and Murder Rock Golf Course, but it wasn't clear if he owns the entire Branson Creek development, a 7500 acre project.

The Branson Landing has celebrated it's first anniversary, much above projections. 4.5 million paid a visit to Branson Landing, an estimated 60% of those who visit Branson. The Hilton hotel and Convention Center opens Aug. 17. They have already booked more than 50 event-days for the rest of the year and more than 150 event-days for next year.

Is Branson Landing a section of Branson? or a separate town?
JLB, I called the Table Rock Landing on Holiday Island..they will put the 2 twins together as a king bed (they have a conversion kit) so another couple is coming with us in the spring!!

Branson Landing is and entertainment/shopping/dining district/complex/development on the downtown Branson Lake Taneycomo lakefront. Historically that area had been trout docks and Dimitri's restaurant.

It is the first major, upscale development designed to attract a more diverse clientele to the Branson area and to act as a regional shopping, dining and entertainment destination, pulling from Springfield, Harrison, and the surrounding area.

You will like Table Rock Landing in the Spring. I nice, quiet getaway.
