Has anyone stayed at Breezy Shores Resort & Beach Club in Detroit Lakes, MN?

If so, what is there to do in the area? We are going there in October of this year.

I have never stayed at Breezy Shores, but I am originally from Fergus Falls which is about an hour drive south of DL (Detroit Lakes).

If you fish-this is a great area. Fall fishing might be pretty good and there are a few good lakes right in the area.

DL is a fairly small town, and is more of a summer town, so it will be pretty quiet when you are there. There is a museum, and a few other things to see, but don't look for amusement parks and high excitement. There are a number of small towns that may offer something. A little to the south is Pelican Rapids, you can see the big pelican on the river. I wouldn't make a trip for that, but if you are driving around, stop and see it.

The nearest 'big town' will be the Fargo-Moorehead area. There is more to do there if the quietness of the lakes gets to you.

Weather could be in the 70s or 50s in the day. Plan on warm clothes.

If you are going in early October, the leaves can still be gorgeous in that area. The fall is a great time to be in small towns because there are pumpkin patches and things like that to do. There is also a lot of trails to hike and bike and kick leaves around I enjoy Minnesota weather until Christmas and then I DREAD January and February! Cold and Dark!!!
