  • Little Known Feature at Big Cedar Wilderness Club

I try to keep myself informed, but there is a feature I just learned about last night.

As J & J & J & J sat on the patio of a groundfloor unit (2501), compliments of Thristy (Thanks ), sipping adult beverages and snacking on hold-e-overs, an obviously pregnant cat, and her companion, joined the party. At our feet, rubbing up against our legs, begging.

Her companion was a skunk .

Asking around, we learned that BC is frequented by people-acclimated skunks and there has never been an incident.

BTW, BCWC was jam-packed, the parking lots filled, and we could not get into the Buzzard Bar. It's not even Ozark Mountain Christmas for another week.

    Quite a surprise.

We've crossed paths with a few of those skunks on our stays there. They pretty much ignored us and went about their business. One time while sitting out on our lodge balcony we saw a couple of them wandering around below. One of them was all white or albino!

Across the road from Cabin 2024 is a garden patio with rustic seating. It's named The Skunk Bunk. Sure enough one evening while we were out there, a skunk came wandering by.
