  • Big Cedar Wilderness Club - Washer/Dryer

We are going November 21-28, 2008 - The confirmation shows Units 2305 and 2307 (looks like in the Phoenix River Lodge). We have two 1-bedroom units. Confirmation shows full kitchen, but I'm wondering if they have washer/dryer in the units there or if they are in the lodge somewhere.

Also, can we see the lake from those units?

    Thanks so much!

We just got home from staying at Big Cedar in one-bedroom. They have W/D in units themselves.

If I remember correctly from a couple years ago, they were stacked units and in our unit, one was very noisy. Start them before you head out for the day.

No idea on the unit view. I know where we were staying, all I could see was trees, or that is my lasting impression, just trees.

The other lasting impression I have is the cookie ladies.

        Stacked W/D in closet.

Today and tomorrow are quite windy, so there will soon be lakeviews that weren't there two days ago.

But, generally speaking, BCWC is not lakeviewish.

Thanks, guys! Guess we can pack light.

Only 16 days till we leave. Hoooray!

We'll be driving in from Little Rock. Are there any convenient grocery stores where we can stop (close to) before we get to Big Cedar?

There is a Walmart in Harrison, ARK which is not too far from Big Cedar that we usually go to.

Did you get Thanksgiving Dinner reservations at Big Cedar?

I didn't try to get Thanksgiving Dinner Reservations. I guess we'll "play it by ear" We're not big on buffets--don't eat enough to make it worthwhile. We could cook in our unit, but we are leaving the next day so don't want leftovers either. We can all decide when we are all there together.

A couple years ago on a certain other timeshare forum, I advised on Branson Thanksgiving dinners.

Then, we played it by ear with friends of ours, and wound up at IHOP at showtime.

That happened to us one time and we ended up at Golden Coral and by the time we got there they ran out of some of the food items.

                    We love IHOP. LOL.

Actually, Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday is no biggie for us when we vacation with these friends. A couple of years ago when we were at the Worldmark Bass Lake (near Yosemite) I cooked our Thanksgiving dinner in the timeshare on Wednesday - one reason was that our friends' son could join us for dinner that day, and the friends wanted to leave to go home Thursday and we were leaving Friday so didn't want the leftovers. We spent Thanksgiving Day in Yosemite and it was a wonderful day.
