  • Anyone know about Welk Resorts in Branson?

I'm considering staying in a Welk resort because I am going with senior parents. Mom expressed an interest in Welk resorts. Anyone stay there? I don't see it as an exchange opportunity, is it hard to get anything here?
    Thanks.

Just wondering, what does going with seniors have to do with staying at a Welk Resort? This tells me you have never stayed in Escondido or Palm Springs. We have been going for over 20 year from the time my kids were born and Welk in Escondido is their favorite (25 and 19 year old), our favorite also from when my wife was 34 and I was 39.

Because my Mom loves Lawrence Welk. Actually I've seen pictures of the resorts online and they look great but I'm sure it's no accident that they used Welks name to sell these resorts. Even though I'm 40 Welk was a little before my time as far as popularity. I remember watching him as a kid but certainly a resort named in his honor wouldn't make me think of partying and fun. Elegant and laid back maybe but not a party place. It's nice that your adult children like it and I'm sure I will too. No offense intended to the senior crowd, I'm crowding in on that badge soon too.

Why of course!!! Do bears live in the woods?

We were just there two days ago, with our good friends from OY who were staying in the wonderful 3-bedroom unit next door at Fairham Mountain Vista.

Welk Timber Ridge Branson, or whatever they call it, is the newest resort here, still cleaning the sawdust off. The Splash-a-torium I/O water park has only been open 8 weeks.

Allthough it is not a rustic settling, the buildings and units are such as to give that feeling . . . a common thing in Branson.

The timeshare part is adjacent to and behind the Welk Resort Hotel and Theater. It does not appear the theater has any regular show right now. As close as you will get to Lawrence Welk is some his memorabilia, like his golf cart, stuff on display in the theater lobby. Other than that, there is no reason why this resort would especially appeal to mature people.

Well, unless you would like to see/meet the Lennon Sisters, who live here now. My new-found cousin, who also lives here, was married to one of them.
