Any idea why week 22 would be the highest rated week on the II travel demand index for Branson? It's a tick higher than 4th of July. What happens the first week of June that would warrant the higher rating? Any one know?

Despite it's local vanity and new airport, Branson is largely a regional vacation destination. Rural schools in this area get out early and start back early. Schools are out now.
This week is Week 22 and we have been having highs in the high 80's, with a brief bump in that arriving tomorrow.
The lakes are beautiful and busy. All the attractions are open.
No reason Week 22 shouldn't be a great week.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Was just curious as conventional wisdom says July 4th is the most demanded week-but not so according to II. II likes week 22

George Carlin might have said something like wisdom and Exchange Companies should not be used in the same sentence. It would be similar to hot water heater.
July 4th is a busier week, always.
This year Memorial Day was early & the weather was crappy. Last weekend, the week after Memorial Day this year, but the normal Memorial Day weekend, the lake was much busier.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

I was out and about last week, Week 22, and it was not busy. I drove by the sold out portion of our resort at 7 AM, heading to golf league, and it was maybe 2/3 full.
Nowhere close to 4th of July busy.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

What's the deal?
Our son and his wife visited Branson Woods [Westlake] during Week 22 just as guests on "the sales visit" weekend, and they were shocked to see there were only two other customers in the guest motel and virtually NO cars in the timeshare condo parking lots. What is going on? Is Westlake saving on maintenance and room servicer costs not only by not letting guests stay in the condos, but by not giving owners their weeks? I have heard folks have had trouble getting a week...all seemingly booked up 'til far in the future.
Our kids did say there were quite a few in the pool in the evening, but not more than a couple dozen. They wondered, but failed to ask, "Where are all the timeshare folks?" Are these dummy buildings, or do hundreds of people really stay there each week?
We own at Branson Woods, but have not used the facilities as we have exchanged...but partly because the first time I inquired about vacancies at Branson Woods, there were none, even well in advance. So we are wondering, what's the deal?

I don't know why week 22 is so much more popular on the demand index but, you're post got me to looking and by golly it is. So I booked that week at our Branson resort that trades through I.I. and it really did very well. We exchanged our 1 bedroom Grand Regency week for a 2 bedroom The Ridge in Lake Tahoe week for the end of July. I thought it was a really nice exchange. From now on, if I'm going to exchange, I'm going to pay closer attention to the demand index that Interval puts out.Our timeshare and other photo's at http://dougp26364.smugmug.com/
