  • Branson question

    Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what Branson's "down times" would be.
I've been there during the last 2 weeks of August a couple of times - that is a down time. The big shows are closed
What other times of the year would fit into this category.
My daughter and I love Branson in those quieter times (though not January/February)
    Any input would be appreciated..
    Thanks
    Judy

If you're asking when the shows are dark I can't tell you. I can tell you we prefer to go during the Spring, Fall and Christmas season. Spring and fall are what some refer to as "blue hair" season as the family crowd is pretty much done for the year and the majorty seem to be retirees getting out after the winter or enjoying the changing of the leaves. It never seems to be as busy crowd wise during those times yet most things are open for business. FWIW, we'll typically go the last week of April, sometimes in October and almost always in December.

      January and February.

Any Shows in January??? - 1Branson.com

Most of the shows open back up in March; SDC reopens mid-March for Spring Family Vacation (Spring Break).

      There are two peak seasons:

Summer family, which ends early to mid August, cuz that's when schools reopen in these parts. DW is off 6 weeks in August and Septemeber.

Tour Bus Season . . . Starts in September and peaks from now (Nov. 1) til Dec 15. Couple that with Ozark Mountain Christmas, and Nov. 1 - Dec. 15 is the peak peak.

DW is also off (on call) right now as her show is changing over to the Christmas show.

Keep in mind that all the shows change to their Christmas shows the first week in Novermber.

Branson is the #1 tour bus destination & one of the top Christmas destinations (even though last year there was a glitch with the Christmas lighting contractor and the city-sponsored lights did not get put up.)

After watching the special on Andy Williams on 'CBS Sunday Morning' a couple weeks ago, I would like to see him. I expect he is actually in person only at limited times, probably Xmas and few other times.

We will be there first week of Aug. If you happen to run into him, tell him we will be looking for him.

Yes, the last week of October is a slower time as JLB said because a lot of the shows shut down to prepare for the Christmas show openings.

Two years ago, I was there for the last week of October and the first week of November - it was like night and day LOL
We left for home on the day before Veterans day - it looked like crowds were going to be at a peak for that.
Thanks for the input - I LOVE Branson!!
