Insider show tips
Here are a couple of hot NYC tips for you from CityShow:
Spamalot Tickets
Broadway shows sometimes offer standing room tickets if the
shows are sold out. There are only a handful of tickets available
and the theaters do not really publicize the availability of these
tickets. If there is a sold out show you want to see, check with
the theater box office a day or two before to ask what their
policy is for standing room tickets.
For Spamalot, the tickets go on sale at the box office at 10am
(be there by 9am to make sure you are in line). They are about
$26, and each person in line can buy two. (Schubert Theater -
Just west of Broadway on 44th street).

A serious "insider's tip" here for you. If you are looking for an
unusual "New York Only" experience go see this show. This
show has been featured in the NY Times Sunday Arts & Leisure
section. It's a comedy show. It is very funny and might even have
an extra-special guest from the entertainment world (see the
"past guests" list on their webpage). Nobody gets naked (at
least it hasn't happened so far) but the show is NOT suitable
for children. Get your tickets in advance as it usually sells out.
Creation Nation: A Live Talk Show is a unique comedy event; a socio-political variety show with comedy sketches, stand-up, original musical numbers, filmed segments, and a live interview with a special celebrity guest. It is an exciting and unpredictable experience, and constantly changing to reflect current cultural and political trends. No two shows are alike.
The show was created by Billy Eichner with assistance from Robin Taylor in the summer of 2003 and has since played various venues throughout New York City including the Ars Nova theater, the Lounge@Elmo, the Apocalypse Lounge, Dekk, The Tank, Chashama, and more. The show is hosted by Billy Willing and Robin Lord, as played by Eichner and Taylor, respectively, and features musical director Eli Bolin at the keyboard with Lee Overtree on drums. It is currently produced by Ars Nova and Sam Forman and directed by Benjamin Salka.
The show is only held once or twice a month.
