... WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING...

THE WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM EST THIS EVENING.

THE LEADING EDGE OF PRECIPITATION HAS REACHED CENTRAL NEW JERSEY AND EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND IS MOVING RAPIDLY TO THE NORTHEAST. SNOW WILL DEVELOP IN NORTHERN NEW JERSEY AND NEW YORK CITY EARLY THIS MORNING... SPREADING EAST THROUGH SOUTHERN CONNECTICUT... THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND LONG ISLAND BY LATE MORNING. THE STEADY SNOW WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE DAY MIXING WITH RAIN OVER EASTERN LONG ISLAND AND THE NEW YORK METRO AREA THIS AFTERNOON. BY THE TIME THE STEADY SNOW ENDS THIS EVENING... 1 TO 3 INCHES OF SNOW IS EXPECTED ACROSS MOST OF THE AREA... WITH 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW EXPECTED OVER THE LOWER HUDSON VALLEY AND INTERIOR CONNECTICUT.

SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS WILL CONTINUE INTO TONIGHT... BUT LITTLE ADDITIONAL ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED.

I am SO sick of snow. The dog groomer was coming this morning so I got up and shoveled an inch or so. There is another inch on the driveway now. It's supposed to turn to rain a little later, so I'm holding tight for now.

I am sitting at ISP (Islip airport) waiting for my plane to Vegas....my plane just landed - oops! no, it is the gate next door - but they have the de-icers standing by.

Thanks to Glitter, I am on the optimum wifi at the airport....keeping my fingers crossed that our flight lands too.

I am not sure what you people call a dusting but we got a lot here and it still coming down slightly. I would say about 4 or 5 inchs

Wow Lawren, bad deal. What a difference the miles make -- so different for you too, Frank...

Woke up @ 6:30 to snow coming down, was surprised as didn't expect it til later. We got what is really a dusting; it stopped over an hour ago. (I'm in Central NJ, 40 miles south of NYC).

Just enough snow that I put out some food for the birds/squirrels and my cats are having a happy BTV morning (Bird T.V.) watching them on the deck.

It wasn't supposed to start snowing in the Boston area until tonight, but it's been snowing at least a couple of hours aready. More expected on Sat.

Enjoy your snow. I was there in May and it was so nice without the snow.
I can imagine it in the cold it must be so, uh, cozy. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.

PS: Don't use the GPS up there the Tomtom's can't find their way back home and you might get snowed in like that couple in Oregon. Brrrrrrrrrr.
