  • Photos of Affinia Manhattan

Stayed for six nights mid-May. Booked as a travelzoo.com special that included breakfast vouchers at restaurant next door. Not sure if they are still affiliated with Royal Holiday Club but it is still listed on their website.

Loved this place! Perfect for those of us used to timeshares with more room to spread out. So much larger than a traditional NY City hotel room at same or lower rates. We had a 1BR suite with king bed, double sofa bed, full (very small) kitchen (wouldn't really try to cook there). Great location, easy walk to Times Square/Broadway theaters, Fifth Avenue. Slightly longer walk to Central Park and museums, Grand Central, Meatpacking District. Across the street from Penn Station for easy subway access.

Nope, replaced by Crowne Plaza Times Square at inflated rates.

Wow that place looks nicer than Manhattan Club. May I ask how much was the rate from travelzoo.com?

The travelzoo special was a limited springtime offer. We got a rate of $159 per night for a standard 1BR suite (with taxes came to about $198). They sent an email offering an upgrade to a "deluxe" 1BR for an additional $29 per night "if available". We didn't even ask about the upgrade when we checked in, other reviewers said no upgrades were available and I'm not surprised, the city was packed and the hotel was full. Once we saw our room and view we were perfectly happy with the standard suite. In fact we would request this exact room again.

I've never stayed at the Manhattan Club but from reviews it seems like the furnishings, cabinets, are be nicer. But the Affinia will be our top choice whenever we return to NYC.

          Thanks!
I stayed at Manhattan Club about two years ago. I guess the interior furnishing is a bit nicer (but pretty worn) at MC, and Affinia's public area seems better looking...
BTW, Your Pahio Shearwater pictures are gorgeous! I am an owner there. Wish I were going this year (rented my week out)...

We stayed at the Manhattan Club for a week in July 2008. We also stayed 5 additional nights in a suite at the luxury hotel Michelangelo at 51st and 7th avenue in mid-Manhattan. There is no comparison between them. The Michelangelo was far nicer and the suite was larger with very comfortable furniture. The MC had very uncomfortable furniture and the elevators were terrible as one wasn't working and had been that way for a long time. You had to wait forever even using the service elevator.

This summer we are going to be staying for a week at the new HGVC 57th Street timeshare which is right by the MC. I am expecting it to be a lot better than the MC.

The pictures are great. We are looking very forward to visiting NYC again..
