  • LAKE GEORGE activites?

Going to Lake George this summer. Have never been. Has anyone been there? Does anyone know of any good restaurants to go to in Lake George? What activites should we do. No young children. Just adults.....Any activites or restaurants in Glenn Lake??

    Any info is appreciated

I was just there last year, there is a Rodeo there and a couple of decent restaurants up the block from there. If you plan on reserving a boat shop around and do it early the prices vary greatly, We ended up renting a platoon boat for less than half the price in a place called Sarnac lake,

The one park is a Six Flags, is just a few miles south of the village of Lake George. It was locally owned until a few years back and then was bought by Six Flags.
There are quite a few restaurants in the area and they range from "so so" to pretty good.
The Log Jam - a steak/seafood place on Rt 9 outside of town
The Bistro at the Georgian - in town, fairly good and also has breakfast buffet
The Montcalm Restaurant - Seafood/steaks - good baked goods - been around for years
Dunham's Bay Resort - good food
Friends Lake Inn - Excellent food - it is a small Inn & restaurant but is not in lake George but in the small town of Chestertown a few miles away
The Sagamore Resort - It is a high end resort in Bolton Landing - just north of village of LG and has several restaurants - La Belle Vita and The Pavilion are the top ones - Relatively high price but exceptional food

Here is a link to other restaurants: Lake George NY Fine Dining: Restaurant Guide to Exceptional Area Dining Including Bolton Landing Restaurants

They have a couple of tour boats that are worth taking to have a good look at the lake: The Mini HaHa is a small paddlewheeler that has an onboard calyapie that they play, about a 1 1/2 hr tour. There is also a larger tour boat that does a 2 1/2 hour tour of whole lake. You see the shoreline and some of waterfront houses are pretty impressive (several have boat houses that match the style of the main house, etc)_The bigger one also has a dinner cruise, but the food is a so-so buffet.
Hope some of this helps, I only live about 30 miles south of there but don't go up as much as I used to.

Super information. Just what we were looking for. THANK YOU....The info is tremendous help. We were tenatively talking about Minnie HaHa, Mini golf, a Farmer Market in Queensbury, Tubing on the river, the forts.

For restaurants we have been passing around Docksider, Algonquin for lunch, Suttons MarketPlace, Painted Pony BBQ and one couple is going to the Sagamore. Staying one week so lots of time for adventures.

Thank you for the info it gives us some more info for discussions. I sounds lovely there, none of us have every been....
