  • New England States

Next year we'll celebrate our 45th Wedding Anniversary and usually do something nice for the bigger anniversaries. Haven't done much thinking about it till lately and decided, I'd better get started on it. Neither one of us has been beyond New York to any of the New England states, so that is a option we are considering. Will try to hit all the New England States, and maybe some of Canada, also. So for my fellow timesharers, have a couple of questions:

    1. Any timeshare locations that would serve as a point where we could do day trips?

    2. What should we see in New England? (DH isn't much for museums, etc.)

Just starting to think about this.

    Thanks,
    Nancy

What time of year? And congrats, btw, that is quite a milestone.

Wonderful, Nancy! I would surely recommend my home state of Maine, maybe the Samoset or Harbor Ridge or Acadia, all on or near the coast, close to many little fishing villages and Boothbay Harbor and Bar Harbor areas.

If one was to make a 2 week trip to New England, my suggestion would be a week in the White Mountains (NH) and a week on the Maine coast (as close to Acadia NP as possible).

White Mountains, as Tony said, would be a great place and there are several timeshares in Lincoln. It is an easy trip to the Lakes if one wants to go there.

Depending on the time of year, upstate Vermont, Stowe perhaps, might be worth a look.

The Maine Coast does offer a lot, but Stowe to Canada might be easier.

The key question, already asked, is what time of year?

Sorry meant to post, but probably May. We prefer to travel off-season because of no kids and not as busy. Our anniversary is May 22, so could span into June.

Thanks for the suggestions so far,

            Nancy
