WiFi here! Our room is Beachfront, on the Ground Floor, walk out of room onto beach. I would sleep in a tent for this. The room is fine and the kids have been exploring. They even got someone to set up a ping pong table. When the weather clears this will be awesome.

Hi, Avery, Enjoy our place, LOL (we own at Gurney's)! Be sure to explore the spa! Also, I don't know if it is offered during this holiday week, but you might want to ask if they have the Sunset special prix fix dinner offer...it is often quite good and a saving! Ah, the spa-h!

The summer 'season' has been pushed up to this weekend; though many seasonal rentals (and prime season) don't start until July 4th weekend... Weather is a bit iffy May/June, but our forecast for this weekend is high 70's to low 80s so I'll take a day of fog for two days of great sun and warm temps...

WOW, today was a 12 out of 10. Katiemack, you are so lucky to own here. While I usually think that high MFs aren't worth it, I believe these are justified. Beachfront in the Hamptons is not easy to find. And I will be happy to pay the extra fees charged to exchangers, they are worth it for the amenities like free WiFi and beach lounges/umbrellas (but beware all, this is not a handicapped-friendly place, there are LOTS of stairs). Today was too nice for me to venture into the spa, maybe tomorrow.

Katiemack, you better never sell this place, especially if it is a fixed week and fixed unit. Staying on the ocean front anywhere on the East or West Coast is a very "special treat".

Our weather is not too bad either but we are staying home this week-end unless we go to the marina later tonight. That would be nice as our friends are there and we promised to come.

Emmy, As you know, we used to own 2 weeks there, and we sold one of them (our Easter/Spring break week). And yes, at times, we miss it! But as we are aging, and New York has less appeal each year, we have tried once or twice to sell or rent our week 52, but have not done so as yet. We ended up depositing the week 52 for this year, so we are not planning to go back this year....but we have so many lovely memories of times at Gurney's that it makes us proud when someone reports a great time.

I have stayed at The Panoramic lots of times. The views are truly spectacular, and the people are real nice. However, The place itself is over do for a face lift. The rooms are clean, but really not very nice, they need to upgrade the entire place.

If you want to be on the beach, and don't mind the so-so condition of the resort, this would make an ideal choice.

This resort is 'cash only' ....no credit cards excepted.

Ah, I see your point, in some ways, Avery; however, we have owned at Gurney's since mid-1980s and when we didn't use it, we have gotten such excellent trades with it, the MFs were more than repaid: Examples: Kauai, Big Island, Aruba, Orlando, Sedona, Hilton Head. Which resorts? you might ask: Bay Club, Bali Hai (Pahio), Kauai Beach Villas, The Cliffs Resort, Paniolo Greens, Egret in Hilton Head; Vistana (Cascades building), Aruba Phoenix and Aruba Beach Club, and Casa del Mar.

These have occurred over the past 20 or so years using either one or both of our two weeks of Gurney's ownership.

When we lived in NY (13 years ago now)...we often used Gurney's for day use...that definitely was a plus! I would drive out there for the day, spa-ah it and drive home feeling rejuvenated!

As I said, we sold off the one week, and we hold onto the second as when push comes to shove, we have gotten some great trades with it in the past. The current week we have on deposit will probably not yield the same results as I see RCI going currently, but boy did we have some great trades! So the memories are not just of Gurney's itself, but what we have been able to enjoy out of the whole ownership of it.

But the idea of converting the week to points for the price that they are "offering it" also is unjustifiable given what we have experienced as owners all these years. I as much told the sales person that when we talked last...and you know what, he agreed with me.
