We didn't need a weekend, but you were lucky to get one! I thought they were excluded from the offer initially, and when we spoke to them last week they had no weekends left until February.

What are you cooking, Frank? We chose Moroccan Braised Beef, Creamed Spinach with Gruyere cheese, and Duchess potatoes... I wanted to try something I haven't done and don't have a good handle on (and would go with one of the nice red wines we got in Napa)...

        They even bring the cookware!
I wanted the Moroccan brassied beef but he talked me into the sirloin with the red wine reduction and since we did 2 Groupons well here is our menu which I can change if you tell me that your beef is great,
2 - Sirloin with a Red Wine and Shallot Reduction
        2 - Kung Pao Shrimp
2 - Arugula, White Bean, Marinara
        2 - Creamed Spinach
        2 - Hashbrown Casserole
        2 - Lemon Barley Pilaf

It's great that they let you choose two different meals, they appear to be very accommodating. The arugula/white bean/marina and lemon barley pilaf were on our short list. The braised beef is going to be like a pot roast with moroccan spice - I don't know how to do either, the only thing I know how to do with beef is grill a filet/porterhouse/shell steak or roast a tenderloin. I haven't had much luck with sirloin, though it'd probably help to learn how to actually cook it... The Duchess potatoes we're doing are instead of the hashbrown casserole bc I was worried it'd be too rich for us. We can trade recipes when we're done!

I don't remember exactly, sounded like whipped and baked and served in individual dollop-like servings. Not on the company's website menu but I was afraid the hash brown ones would be too rich for us so they suggested these instead.

Here are some pics from Google:

I got a call at 8:30 am that he is canceling all of todays events due to the weather, I can't blame him and Appreciate his fast response when I needed to know asap. now comes the hard part to find a new date that works for us 4 and the Chef.

You got better notice than we did last night - canceled last minute after we had decanted the wine and we didn't get the message until we'd been waiting 45 minutes - chef had a baby. Rescheduling had better not be a problem

At least he had a good excuse.

I have never seen anything this good with Groupon, just pastries and spa stuff. I would jump at this one, not so much the spa days for me.

We were offered a slot at 4 pm or 9:15. Neither of those will work for us. If they are so booked that's all we can get regardless of the day, I will have to ask for a refund.

Let us know how yours goes, Frank!

Avery like I said on the phone we enjoyed it. This was my firsst cooking class but my wife has gone to a few. The Lemon barley was ggreat and my family loved the kong pao shrimp. He took his time with my son showing him hot to use the knife. In fact I got some new tips as well. I would try to make it work some how. For what we paid this was a steel.

We'll make the effort given Frank's positive review. I think it's great that LittleFrank got so much hands on instruction. I have never taken a knife class, though I've been tempted - I'm sure I could use some tips

I don't usually like barley but am tempted to switch since you loved it so much. The creamed spinach does sound a little bland/simple.
