    Thanks - I made a few reservations.

Russian Tea Room - wanted to revisit a classic.
    Tao
    Lavo
Maze by Gordon Ramsey - reviews are hit or miss, but I'd like to try for myself.

My favorite restaurant week lunch spots

As I work in Manhattan, I make it a habit to hit at least one per restaurant week. My most memorable Restaurant Week meals have been at (in no particular order):

The Nougatine Room at Jean Georges
      db Bistro Moderne
      Quality Meats
Gotham Bar and Grill (although they always have a good prix fixe lunch)
      Estiatorio Milos

I just made a reservation for craftbar for this year.

Other restaurants that I've wanted to try on the Restaurant Week list include Nobu (although the menu doesn't excite me), Esca, Spice Market, and Telepan. The Modern is also doing dinner in the Bar room, but that's a great restaurant. Adour is a gorgeous place, a little stuffy, great food, great service.

Here is what I ended up with....

Bobby Van's Grill - 50th Street (for family dinner - DD loves the one in Bridgehampton)
The Oak Room at the Plaza Hotel (DD has never been to the Plaza)
Telepan (Glitters suggestion - great reviews!)
Ocean Grill New York (DD & DSIL2Bs fav)

Telepan is a good choice, and very welcome in the somewhat restaurant-desolate Lincoln Center area.

Another idea while you're at TMC if you're into charcuterie/salumi/cheese, we just ate there tonight - no Restaurant Week special, but not expensive for Manhattan - Salumeria Rosi at 73rd and Amsterdam Welcome to Salumeria Rosi Parmacotto A local treat, they do a deli/takeout counter but have a nice wine selection and cozy dining atmosphere. Be sure to ask what's not on the menu. If you're not into pork, skip this, for sure. Reservations almost always needed (we got lucky tonight due to the snow).

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Another reco - this is really good for pre-theatre and also great for anyone coming in to Port Authority from NJ (it's on 44th and 9th). They always have a nice prix fixe, btw, and the place is large so ressies aren't too hard to get:

                      ..::: Marseille - Info :::...

btw, we had a great meal at Bond St a few weeks ago - we're going back next week. We did a RueLaLa certificate, so it was a chef's tasting, really good. We accidentally bought two even though one cert. was good for two people, so next week is a bonus

I was back in the city yesterday and had lunch at La Masseria.

La Masseria Ristorante - Our Wonderful Italian Restaurant is located in New York City and Rhode Island, East Greenwich

It's on 48th between 8Th and 9th. It was really, really good.

We ended up canceling Bobby Vans - but went for lunch at Park Avenue Winter - 63/64th & Park Ave, it was wonderful - best meal of the week - along with Telepan - would definitely go back to both of these.

Did not care for the food and service at the Oak Room at the Plaza Hotel - space was wonderful but uninspired menu and slow, indifferent service. A definite

Ooh, Park Avenue Winter looks fab and it's not far from my in-laws... sorry about the Oak Room, though I'm not entirely surprised. I don't think you missed much at Bobby Vans, at least not if the Bridgehampton restaurant is any indication (though it was pretty awesome when Phoebe Legere used to play there - 80s flashback, sorry ).
