The Hilton Club, NYC

I booked a few nights at The Hilton Club on Ave of Americas thru RCI points. I may cancel if there are too many extra fees.

Does anyone know if the Hilton Club has a daily "hospitality" fee? I believe W 57th has a hefty fee ($80) for housekeeping.

Do exchangers still get access to the lounge? I understand W 57th limits access to the lounge for owners only, but was wondering if there were different rules at the original Hilton Club.

Hilton Club/6th Ave exchangers get access to the club, at least as of the last time I checked a couple of months ago.

I hope there are no big fees, please let me know if you learn of any.

Sounded to me like Hilton Club was a better bet than 57th street - the units are all on 37th/38th floor so should have good views.

I walked past W 57th the other day - well located but who needs all those extra fees!

Will be interested in hearing about the Hilton Club.

I believe John enjoys this property very much - or is it W 57???
He has gotten it thru SFX.

RCI said there is $40 cleaning fee (for the entire stay, not per night) and parking charges (not an issue for me).

Several of the points resorts I've exchanged into had a cleaning fee, so it may only be for points exchangers.

W 57th is very nice, but shortly after opening, they restricted use of the amenities to owners only, and the cleaning fee bumped up to $80.

The extra fees apparently are for RCI exchangers. We exchanged into the Manhattan Club and the HGVC West 57th Street through SFX and didn't have to pay any fees. We have a confirmed exchange through SFX for this June at the Hilton Grand Vacations Club on Avenue of the Americas.

It is good to know that the free continental breakfast will be available.

Maria, how do you find out if there are any additional charges thru RCI points stay?
When I looked at MC thru RCI, it stated there was a $15/day fee - would there be any addtional charges on top of that because it would be a point resie?
Should I call?
And does Hilton have a 1 in 4 like MC?

I can't say specifically about the Hilton in NYC but I imagine they do as HGVC has the 1 in 4 rule at other HGVC properties like the HGVC/Flamingo in Las Vegas.

One of the nice things about exchanging with SFX is there are no restrictions on how often you can visit a resort like the RCI 1 in 4 rule. You also don't pay the extra fees.

Pat, you know I'm the belt and suspender person! I call RCI when I book and note the amount on the confirmation and I call the resort just prior to arrival to verify.

When points were first rolled-out, one resort (in the Poconos, we're not talking the Ritz) told me the charge would be $39 per day instead of per stay. I was able to clear that up in quickly because I had my notes on my confirmation (amount, name, date, etc.) I took it as an innocent mistake since the points short stay concept was new.

I wonder if you are permitted to make a 1BR Destination Club resie and give it to SFX for deposit???

I know they take deposits from Wyndham and Bluegreen that can not longer be gived to RCI (and no Wyn in II) and accept these as deposits and also from Worldmark and Hilton - also point systems...you should ask SFX.
I assume Marriott will say no (as Wyndham does) - so that is why I would Ask SFX.

On a side note my HGVC guide called me yesterday to offer me at $3 a point the Hilton Club and he said it included breakfast.
He said the minimum buy in is 7000 points.
He said it was so "cheap" because it only had something like 25 years left on the lease. Didn't seem like such a bad deal considering looking at the points charts seems you can get nights for 500 or 600 a night and open season is only open to owners there.
I wonder if it's all worth it in the end.

No, it is not worth it - especially since u can trade in thru RCI/SFX

I guess for the casual visitor but what do you think about the value with open season rates being only available to owners there?

I think for someone who goes to New York every month it might be worth buying something there. I know there are cheaper ways to get in but I could see this appealing to someone just to get access to the open season availability.

I wonder how available it is to those owners.
