This is going to be a great venue. A very pretty area, I am guessing this is going to give Tanglewood a run for its money... Here's a blurb about the opening concert on July 1st:

    NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC TO LAUNCH
BETHEL WOODS CENTER FOR THE ARTS
INAUGURAL SEASON ON JULY 1, 2006

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY, a new state-of-the-art cultural center located at the site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival, will inaugurate its opening season with a performance by the New York Philharmonic. Pianist Lang Lang and soprano Audra McDonald will join conductor Bramwell Tovey with the orchestra at the Bethel Woods summer pavilion. The opening night celebration will continue with a spectacular fireworks display by Grucci, following the performance.

"We are delighted to help inaugurate this new performing arts center on the historic site of the original Woodstock concert," said Zarin Mehta, New York Philharmonic President and Executive Director. "It is a spectacularly beautiful setting - a perfect backdrop for listening to great music under the stars."

The lawn offers a beautiful experience for the opening performance of the New York Philharmonic, including a state of the art sound and video system, a picturesque natural setting and clear view of the post-concert fireworks display. Become a Charter Member today and guarantee your place on the lawn this July 1. Memberships including pavilion seating and additional benefits are also available.

    Lawn tickets $20.00
    Memberships begin at $50.00

Believe it or not this is in my cousins back yard. They own the property behind Woodstock in Monticello.

Sounds very nice. I welcome the center to the NY area. This could make for a nice day trip, or even an overnight stay.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

Frank, your cousin and DH's are close neighbors... I think their address is Swan Lake, though, as they are across the road and down about 1/4 mile.
