  • Manhattan Club COUNTDOWN!

2 weeks until our first trip to NYC.

We've got a 1 BR / 2 Bth. Is there a particular area / floor of the building that we should request?

We've mapped out our day trips, purchased our Yankees & Empire State Building tickets, decided on using TKTS booth at Seaport for whichever play looks good that day and decided to take a taxi to and from JFK. We'll hop on the Staten Island ferry to see lady Liberty. Oh, and we will be using a 7 day metro card.

All we need to do now is decide on the pizza, pastrami, hot dogs and bagels. We've researched and gotten advice from everywhere. I think I'm just going to try them all!

For pizza come to Queens. Rosa pizza is the best. There upside down Sicilian will leave you wanting more.

Bens on Queens Blvd is my Favorite for pastrami. If you come in for lunch let me know and I could meet you there.

BTW look in the NY forum here on this site. There are a lot of play discounts for tickets posted in there.
Timeshareforums Shirts and Mugs on sale now! http://www.cafepress.com/ts4ms

MC rooms occupy floors 14-25. Rooms facing the "courtyard" have NO view except for a brick wall and are dark. But they are very quiet. No great views anywhere, but a street view would at least give you an idea of the weather, etc... still I prefer the dark quiet courtyard, call me crazy. Friends recently stayed on the 14th floor facing the street and said it was quiet. I would guess that facing 56th street is quieter than facing 7th avenue. There is a bit of variety in 1 bd/2bth units in terms of size/layout. If you don't like where they put you, ask to see something else.

Take a look at the "Get Away from Manhattan" ( as in get-aways in Manhattan when at the Manhattan Club.) thread.

I've been posting special events, discounts and not-to-miss theater recommendations for spring-summer visitors. Many of the suggestions and summer promotions are too new to be in printed visitor's guides.

          Wishing you a wonderful vacation!

            Coney Island

Take the subway to Coney Island. Eat a hot dog at Nathan's and visit Brighton Beaches Russian area. Best way is head east on the Boardwalk.
