We moved to our regularly scheduled Sycamores 3 bedroom unit this afternoon. Despite moving six of us and two cars full of stuff in the middle of the worst of the rain today we couldn't have been happier. This unit is absolutely huge - 1574 s.f. according to the website. The master bath has a large jacuzzi, the two kids' rooms each have a tv/dvd (dvd built into side of screen, hopefully that will save at least one of you the embarrassment of calling housekeeping to borrow a dvd player ). Great room is huge and comfy, with TV, stereo, gas fireplace. New kitchen appliances. Nice terrace. One of the kids room is GIGANTIC, with FOUR separate twin beds. The other is smaller but more than fine and has a queen. Oh, washer/dryer in the unit - a common Smuggs feature.
Smuggs was so wonderful in accommodating our moving target checkin - we ended up showing up at 4 am on Saturday without a reservation until Saturday night (we had booked Saturday as an extra night in advance of our Sunday checkin when we first started trying to get ahead of the storm) - they found us a 1 bedroom in Tamaracks (North Hill) that we were able to spend both Friday and Saturday nights in. Then today since they didn't need the 1 bedroom for anyone checking in today, they let us stay until our 3 bedroom was ready and we were able to take our time moving. I'm guessing that earlier in the season this wouldn't have been possible but things start winding down up here this week.
I loved the Tamaracks unit (in North Hill) and wouldn't hesitate to stay there with a family of four. It actually sleeps six with a king and a twin with trundle in the master, and the pullout in the living room. Also plenty of seating when the sofa's back together - big L shaped sectional. The North Hill community is a bit closer to Village Center than Sycamores in West Hiill and has a great waterslide at the pool -- to get to West Hill by car you have to leave the main property and take the public road to another entrance, and there's no waterslide here, but there is a playground, and ping pong as well as a gym in the West Hill community center.
Rum Runners is closed this week so we'll miss it yet again. Also the Aquashot (?) and trampoline there have been out of service due to vandals earlier in the season
I'm looking forward to some more exploring/outdoor fun once this weather passes, but if we have to spend another day or so in this lovely space, I'll live! Definitely planning on the Pirate Dinner and a few or our group are looking forward to the new zipline/canopy tour. We had a nice dinner at Hearth and Candle last night.
