  • Where are Manhattan Club deposits?

Has anyone seen availability for Manhattan Club recently with RCI? They used to have pretty regular bulk deposits but I have not seen anything lately. I need a unit for Feb. 2013 for a family event in NYC. I was pretty confident something would become available and even combined some TPUs in preparation and set up a search. I know it is still early for next winter, but I find it curious that nothing seems to be coming in. Would Platinum be an option? I don't think I have seen anything for Affinia either.

I realize no one knows the real answer, but I would appreciate your opinions.

    REAL ANSWER:
only a fool would deposit their own Manhattan Club with maintenance fees over $2000. Any deposits are done by fools or done for fools by Manhattan Club.
... not enough time for all the timeshares ®

Maybe they have wised up and are giving them to SFX these days.

maybe MC found that cheap rentals via RCI weren't quite working for them?

You need 58-60 TPUs to exchange into the Manhattan Club thru RCI. If your combined deposit is not over that number you all not get a match.

I have gotten Manhattan Club thru SFX previous years but despite several requests/searches/different dates, did not get a match for this year in any NYC TSs.

I know in points Manhattan Club is only opened up until Jan. I see another day get added to the booking window each day. I have just recently started following this since I currently have only been working with RCI points. I really need to look into SFX for possible New York exchanges.

My combined week has 84 TPUs so that won't be the issue. I don't really trust the ongoing search, though, so I check most every day and have not seen MC for any dates. I don't really care where in NYC I get a week, but MC has always been the most reliable for deposits. A couple of years ago we got a week at the Canterbury Suites through RCI but I haven't seen anything there since that one spacebank. Maybe NYC is just not an option anymore.

As I said, SFX did not come thru this year for me although they DID have a few January Feb 2012 weeks available.

Do a search on our sightings board and see when the last big deposits were made, also check to see when Jan-March 2012 were seen...I honestly feel you will easily the February week you want thru RCI, they just are not bulk deposited yet.

Yes there are 33 Manhattan Club weeks available in RCI points this morning. One Nov 30, 2012 check-in and the rest for January. The typical 10 months out deposit.

Have not seen Affinia since the initial deposit for Platinum members. I think that weeks will be relegated to first quarter deposits for TMC as that was all I saw last go round.

Just a reminder that RCI exchangers are charged an extra $30 per day for Manhattan Club units.

I have one more points exchange for May 2012, but in the future, I'll book alternatives.

I would definitely go with SFX. We have exchanged into NYC 3 times with SFX at 3 different timeshares. We have stayed at the Manhattan Club, HGVC West 57th Street, and Hilton Vacations Club on Avenue of the Americas. We far prefer the Hilton Vacations Club for both location and amenities.

Wow! RCI must be reading my post. I just got the exact week I was looking for; it even matched my ongoing search!! Plus there are 49 other weeks available. I won't mention them because that belongs on the Sightings board.
