Well, as predicted, we have a power outage. Standby generator is working just fine. However, it isn't hooked-up to the air conditioner.

When we installed the generator, I asked my wife, "Do you want the air conditioner attached or the washer and dryer?"

The washer and dryer are currently working just fine.

Oh no.....Well, now your DW can do some laundry.

BTW, I'm hoping that we don't have a black out here. No generator.

Boy you guys are whimps when it comes to a little heat.
Although just to make you feel better, it's only in the 79-85 degree zone down here in Miami and our electric is working so you guys should just come on down.

We learned our lesson three years ago during the long, cold, power outage when the electric companies kept promising power would be restored the next day.

All kidding aside, our long outages tend to be in the winter so the AC being hooked-up isn't really important. Yesterday they restored power within two hours. That is very good.

I wound up losing electricity after all, with dinner in the oven. It was out for about 3 hrs.

I was reading your posts on my way home. (No I was not driving today). Traffic was all choked up on the CBX approach to the TNB.

Normally would have gotten off in Bayside, but I had to go meet DW in New Hyde Park. Took 90 minutes by the time I got off the Bridge to get to NHP. This distance would normally take 20 minutes at most from Bayside. Downed trees, streets closed, the Cross Island got flooded and soil washed on to the parkway by the LIE.

                              What a mess!

Yesterday was our coldest June day in 12 years at 10oC (50F) and over 60mm (over 2 inches) of rain. Quite a bit of flooding and snow in some areas.
